Not a niners fan, but that pound the ball with good D is my kinda football. Yep, I haven't forgotten that '84 season. I went to DC and witnessed the Bears beat the skins. Then Walsh and the niners unmercifully embarrassed the Bears. Needless to say, Ditka and Walsh weren't best buds. The next season is when Ditka ran the Fridge in for a TD to throw it back in Walsh's face.
Wasn’t it after that year that the 9ers came to Chicago for a cold weather playoff game and won.
All the talk was the Bears would win because of the cold and the players came out in short sleeves.
