Last season, that first half of the first game was amazing. They came out on fire and lit the Pack up bad. Then they took their foot of the throat. This year? Just pathetic all game. The D kept them in it but even they had miscues that cost points-the wide open reciever in the drive that resulted in a TD. But the offense was flat out terrible. I do not have the optimism you do, Peke, not at all. They've got a very tough schedule this season and if they don't get this O figured out, it's going to be a long season. We've seen plenty of Bears teams with good D and terrible offenses go nowhere. Right now, Trubisky has a TON to prove and it's not looking good presently....one game down, we'll see how it goes hereout.

Can't believe waited 8 months for this.

Packers db's were like glue on bear's receivers.
It looked like they had 20 players on D.

Nagys offense did not fool Pettine at all.

1 - Trubisky stunk.

2 - 3rd & inches and you line up in the shotgun? You need a yard & you run Patterson up the middle? Cohen with no rushes?

3 - we need a TE.

4 - Cody Whitehair was terrible, isn't he supposed to be our best OL? He was shockingly bad. The OL is way overrated.

5 - Allen Robinson looked like the only guy on offense ready to play.

6 - This team was not ready to start the season.

7 - Anthony Miller - 0 catches.

Cade McBiscuit looked like sh!t! This is why you play your starters in preseason. 3 points? WTF? So we could've had Mahomes, instead we get to watch this display of garbage. Only the first game but we just spotted Rogers a game lead in our division.

Nagy better dig deep.. You just lost one the most important games of the year for Bears fans..

I knew as soon as I saw all the 85 Bears marching out waving white flags we were going to lose.  Let that 85 shiit rest already, and what was the point of waving white towels???

The OL was putrid last night, between pressure and penalties.  Trubisky was putrid.  What was up with those passes to Patterson where he was just lobbing them up in the air, but not far enough?  And it looked like he thought it was still preseaon throwing INTO double coverage, see INT for example.  And it seems like he has been nuetered and is afraid to run.  Anthony Miller targeted exatly ONE time.  WTF???  RB Davis was ok, but Montgomery was much better, but yes the Fudge were keying on him as a running play.  Try throwing to him some more.  Shaheen was putrid.  And Burton the pusssy didnt play in another big game.  I am not buying the "mystery" groin strain at all.  If we cant count on him, lets find someone we can count on.  Robinson looked good, but man he needs some help.  And did Cohen get any runs?  He was supposed to be our 3rd/all purpose player.  And Taylor Gabriel with the pushing off, not sure if that is on him or Trubiskys bad passes/not far enough.

D was good, and Roquan had some nice plays.  I was hoping for a little more.  At first I didnt think Clinton-Dix was even playing, as he was invisible.  The old I'm not doing anything to my ex-team, ala Burton.  But I did see his jersey in the second half.  I guess I was hoping/wishing for some more turnovers or picks.  They held them to 10 pts, so cant complain too much, but Mr Vaseline has that knack for getting rid of the ball at the last second.  I loved the sacks, and the last one he was kind of ginger getting up from.

Overall I think all that superbowl hype went to their heads.  If the O cant get it together it will be a 7-9 year.  If I was Nagy I would make sure every O starter next year plays in the preseason, at lest until they show they are competent.  This could be a long year, and the last 8 months were hard enough, but last night was painful.

Well the atmosphere to start the game yesterday was electric.  However that pathetic display from our offense, destroyed what should have been a great evening for all Bears fans.

The play calling was bad; I mean really, really bad.

Trubisky was WAY over throwing the ball.  I know it is just one game, but really makes me wonder if he will pan out for us at QB.

Why did we not use D. Montgomery more?  He got a couple of touches, he needed more.  I think by the end of the year he will be a workhorse.

No turnovers?  Hopefully that trend does not continue.  Should of had a pick six early in game.

We that was a major wake up call for me.  So much for booking Miami hotel (super bowl) and going to have to find a new QB in FF this year.

I think sometimes those offensive masterminds get too cute. We may need to line up in the I formation sometimes and just give it to the running back.

Nagy needs to come out and apologies to all Bears fans. He had all off season and that's the best they could come up with? Now they go on the road the next two games. Start 0 and 3 and you can just about kiss the season good bye. I just can't get over how bad McBiscuit looked, terrible!!

YEah I was thinking they kept saying Trubisky is getting into level 202 plays, maybe he needs to go back to level 101 plays.  Cause what they tried last night didnt work.

As far as next week, at first I wasnt too worried about the Broncos and Flacco, but after seeing Trubisky last night, they could shut us out all together.

3 points. 3.  Am I the only one who was shocked by 1st and 40 ? Bears got beat fair and square. Doubt that its going to be a good year. Throw everything else out the window, the Bears only
scored 3 points. Receivers were always well covered. No tight end really, and now I might as well say that at the time I thought the Howard trade was a mistake.  Those 3 on the field last night
didn't impress.

Had to record the game and watched it last night well after midnight, so I haven't sifted through the posts (apologize for anything redundant).

1)  Defense did a helluva job.  Did just about everything better than last year, except for one thing.  Getting turnovers.  But they played well enough to win the game if they had an average output from the offense.  Holding Rodgers and Devante Adams to those numbers was an accomplishment.  But they would have had to be perfect and thrown a shutout to win this game.   Would have liked to seen more of Jackson and Clinton-Dix but they did their jobs.  Floyd is a monster with 2 hands isn't he?  And Robertson-Harris had a nice game when given some quality minutes.  Did anyone notice that Trevathan was kind of quiet?

2)  Offensive line - When you have a pass run ratio that is incredibly one sided it puts a lot of pressure on the QB and the O-line.  I thought for the most part they did an OK job.  A lot of the sacks were not their fault...but the last one was all  Whitehairs.  Also this was Daniels first game at center in the NFL.  I was concerned going in about his matchup with Kenny Clark - he's good.

3) Wide receivers.  Gabriel had a tough night.  So close on two big catches that could have turned the game around.  Robinson was an all out stud - nuff said.  Where the H was Miller?  Targeted twice?  As I'm sure someone mentioned - the Packers played tight coverage daring the Bears wideouts to beat them (and the opposite was the Bears corners playing sometimes 10 yards off the wide receivers often giving them easy 7 to 8 yards).

4)  Running backs.  We need to see more of Montgomery.  In fact we need to see more of all the running backs...actually running.  Nagy has a tendency to abandon the run way too early in games.

5)  QB - Trubisky is not the Qb that you can drop back over 50 times in a game.  15 running plays and 3 of those were Trubisky scrambles.  There's something to him getting rid of the ball quickly.  The longer he sits back there the lower his rating drops.  He's got athleticism - he's got the arm, but his pocket presence was not good.   Part of that could be the receivers were not open - but part of it falls on him not finding secondary receivers and forcing the ball when his primary is open.

6)  TE - Shaheen...really?   You double dribble on your only catch.  Two games in a row without Burton - two losses.

FWIW now that I've had time to let the game sink in a little:

The Good:
Defense is stout. Regression ? I didn't see any regression. Only scoring drive they gave up was on a hurry up drive (can't recall if Mack was taking a breather or not) and a busted play. Expected Rodgers to make at least 1-2 plays a game like that.

Montgomery is a beast (as is Robinson). The rest of the O... not so much.....

Oh and the Bears have a 100% FG percentage. YAY !

The Bad:
Special teams still taking the "Special Bus". ST coordinator (despite Nagys pathetic playcalling this game) I think is still the weakest coach of the bunch.

For some reason the Bears receivers looked like they were glued to the Packer secondary most of the night.

Trubisky looked rusty. Maybe some more pre-season play would've helped ?

The Ugly: (and now the angst :D)
Nagy's playcalling. WTF was that all about ? Patterson in a dive up the middle on 3rd and short ? Patterson out in routs (that he cannot run) and all those **** passes, Christ....

And speaking of runs, why the hell wasn't Montgomery in the game more and what happened to calling runs at all (he runs angry and is going to be a force in the NFL).

Shaheen. Waste. Of. Space. 'nuff said. Don't even get me started on "No Show" Burton......

Oline play. Too bad they didn't get more playing time in pre-season. Again what seems to be a bad Nagy decision

"One game does not a season make" but boy do they have to put this one behind them and wake the **** up. Maybe they were buying into their own hype ? Expect better next week but they may be lucky to be .500 going into the bye if the change is only incremental.....
