Rogers didnt play a single snap in the preseason, whereas Mitch handed off THREE whole times.  And Rogers did look rusty, but he shook it off, thanks to genetics and experience.  Mitch, just shiit the bed.

this was supposed to be a running team. Why pass so much & run so little?

So the packers were playing 6 db's.  I thought you were supposed to be able to run down their throats when a defense does that?

The biggest frustration for me was that they never really tried to establish the run, even though Montgomery really looked good.  Instead, they obviously wanted to go with Davis to try to establish the pass.  Never a good idea in the NFL Central.

Trubisky was lucky not to have three picks last night as Green Bay dropped one and another was broken up with incidental contact.

Trubisky playing better than he did against the Packers really isn't the point. The question is do people think he looks like a QB that can win titles? It's not about managing offenses anymore. You have to be able to make plays down the field.

Your asking that in game 1?

Nagy is the problem.  In way over his head.  One of the worst NFL head coaches of the past quarter century.

No sarcasm font ? :D

So many folks seem butt-hurt over the loss everywhere I look, but as I've gotten older I've found it isn't worth it to let something color my outlook that way. Now when i was younger it would ruin at least a few days into the next week for me at work and I'd be more cynical and bitter than I usually am (which is quite a lot normally to be honest :D)

Maybe all the practice of being disappointed over the last 3 decades and have tempered me (or maybe I've just gotten old :D).  Now I've got a 1/2 hour of anger after a game then shrug it off. It sucks to invest feelings into something passionately only to get your heart ripped out but as I've reached the point in life where it stops giving you things but starts taking them away (friends, family, health) I now know its not the destination but the ride that matters.  And I won't let it spoil this weekend's Redzone football fest as I enjoy the game too damn much.....

Enjoy the roller coaster season. BEAR DOWN and Go BEARS !

Postscript:
Got an email from a friend with a quote from earlier last week by Nagy that he didn't want the team to peak to early and my friend added "Good Job then". With friends like those........ :)

Bears4Ever

I'm getting to where you are but not yet there.

Fortunately for me after watching the recording of the GB loss early Friday morning I had to go to bed.   Normally after a loss I'm very irritable towards my family and the dog.   The anger is replaced by general sadness and depression which decreases throughout the week and generally gets replaced by  excitement while I start focusing on the upcoming game.

It's really therapeutic to come here to share my grief and listen to the over reacted opinions that I also had a few hours after the game.

Should I be laying on a couch while I say all this?

LOL!! I'm not nearly as animated about the whole NFL in general. I used to be able to name at least the main players on every team. Not anymore.. I don't spend the money on the ticket anymore, and haven't for quite awhile. Now, if the game isn't nationally televised I listen to the WBBM (radio) feed. It won't be much longer the NFL will stand for overrated (if it hasn't already reached that status). There's no loyalty, the players don't care about the team they play for, they care about the paycheck they receive. It's not about the fan anymore, it's about money and how things can be manipulated for a political agenda. Sad, but it's reality. There's more to life than watching football...

And how out of skew are things when a football player makes $20 mil in one season. And a police officer or a nurse or teachers or whoever is lucky to make $50k and scrapes by..

And musicians and movie actors.  Along with pro athletes - they are all entertainers.

I go back to about 1968 getting disappointed
I haven't missed more than 25 games since then.
I don't get emotional over games I just watch other games and usually don't look at any analysis for a couple of days.

Like it or not, the NFL is on the decline, and has been. It's still top dog but nowhere near where it was. People like myself are sick of getting fukked by cable and dish companies. I got rid of that sh!t years ago. Sling and the antenna. Cut my bill by 2/3. Hollywood's not where it used to be. At some point, they can't keep paying the big bucks hoping it will work out in the end. With all the head injury concerns, football will change. I'm still a big Bears fan, but not so much the NFL, if that makes any sense..
