But the last pass to AROB was a beautiful thing - shuffle and fire

The Redskins are (1-16) at home on MNF since 1998.  Cakewalk :-)

What concerned me the most was the heart of this team failed to deliver when needed.  We were up by a TD late and all they had to do was stop Denver from scoring and they couldn't.  If you want to be the best Defense in the league you can not let Denver march down the field and score a TD late.  They were 62 yards away with only 2:48 to go and couldn't stop them.  They had them in a 4th and 10 and couldn't stop them.  They had them in a 4th and 3 and couldn't stop them.

If you want to tout the Defense then they need to stand up when needed.  They didn't.  They failed.

Not to pile on, but you are dead wrong.  Bears did stop one 4Q 84 yard drive with the pick (which I can't believe the announcers didn't show a closer look at whether Fuller went out of bounds).  But after that what did the offense do, run 5 plays then punt?  They were gassed and Flacco, although a statue, is a very accurate QB.  I couldn't believe he was able to get off throws with guys on him.

I noticed when they blitzed Skrine for the 4th time in a row he had a clear shot to Flacco - but Pagano used his second timeout.

So what concerns me is the offense...the passing game is fukked up.  The O-line gave up some pressure but no sacks - but Leno especially seems to be struggling this year.  Are Miller and Burton still hurt?  They are not a part of the offense like they were last year.  And Cohen isn't being utilized.  Shaheen and Braunecker aren't scaring anybody.

We might could borrow a few pages from the Ravens. Lamar Jackson is looking pretty good.

I guess I can quit whining about a kicker, coupla 50 yarders+ even if it was a mile up. The Bear ran for a buck fity, where's the points? Before that last pass Mitch had less than a 100 yards
for the WHOLE GAME.

That sounds good, but past history of Bears/Redskins doesnt make this a yawner. I am not ready to put this game in the win column till its over.

This is the NFL - you never put any game in the win column before its played!   With the way the Bears offense is playing right now I don't see them being favorites in many road games this season.

Back to the offense.  Yes, the Bears ran for over 150 but about 50 of that was from Patterson on the one play that the Bears scored their only touchdown (barely).  According to some mph stats - Patterson is the fastest running back in the NFL.

Where's the quick slants and the crossing patterns?  Bears seem to avoid the middle of the field and nibble on the edges near the LOS.

Anybody nicked up bad? I saw that Burton was playing, but looked stiff as hell even on tv. Mitch ain't no Lamar, but I do think the coaches should let him take off more. The team can't rely
on constant defensive turnovers to save the bacon, which that fuller one did.

I can only hope that part of Trubisky's regression is caused by a lack of playing time in the preseason. I understood the philosophy, but, man those game reps are kinda important. I agree that Mitch needs to run the ball more where he can buy time or even go for it.Opens up the offense completely!

Part of Trubiusky's problem is he was facing VIC FANGIO - who knows how to make Mitch uncomfortable. No one knows how to stop the Bears O better than Fangio.

No sacks for the Broncos and no turnovers - HUGE pluses.

And Denver was 17-1 in home openers the last 18 games. That being said, I think the Bears take the Skins. But that offense is offensive....

I am tired of watching other team's highlights of receivers running down the field wide open, with no DB in the picture, catching 50 yard bombs.

With the Bears a pass over 10 yards to a WR is major accomplishment.  And often times even those are into a tight window.
