Yep - basically how the Packers beat us. This needs to be fixed. BUT - everyone and their brother knew Jacobs was running on first down - yet we were not ready.

It was the Bears who were consistently running on first down.  The Raiders would often get 8 or 9 yards on first downs passing...at least they were in the 2nd half.

Shaheen now pretty much officially looks like just another guy.  He'd better block well or I would rather see a guy like Dan Brown replace him.

Not sure why Burton looks so sluggish unless he is not recovered.  Should be able to tell after the bye.

According to all the media experts, the Raiders have a much bigger OL than most so they could power our smaller DL especially w/o Hicks.
They were also cut blocking which really intimidated Goldman especially.  They were only called once.

According to the SCORE, the Patriots tried to sign Alex Bars off our practice squad last week and the Bears gave him a roster salary and persuaded him to stay.  Good move by Pace.  My guess is they want more time to coach him up and see him replacing Long.

Long needs to sit for as long as it take to get healthy, he's ineffective now.

Long just has had too many major injuries. It catches up with these guys. Steve McMichael once said the every play for offensive and defensive lineman is like a car crash. It's pretty brutal. He had a good run. 3 Pro Bowls.

Every time Shaheen gets hit he looks like he will not get up.

Travathan and Floyd and Smith got destroyed by the Raiders O-line as well.

Didn't see it , didn't get in till 9 pm last night, ass is dragging at work, doesn't sound like I missed much, would have had to go to a bar to watch, dunno if its that important
to me anymore. Same song with the Bears over and over. Lovie got the Bear to the superbowl along with Chico, Jauron had a 13-3 season, last year was fun, this year ? meh. I didn't
Like the Howard trade, we all know Cohen at some point is going to get busted into a million pcs. Robert Gentry couldn't play every down and neither can he, The OL is no where near
as good as last year, the TE position has gone completely south, somehow the Bears have to score more points. I hate to see Long keep playing, he's young and when he gets old, It'll be
bad. I think its gonna take more than 2 weeks to fix this. that was a long plane ride back I bet.

I'm assuming Miller ran the wrong route on that last int.  It was still triple coverage if he hadnt shortened up the route.  Still a horrible decision by Daniel, he had quite a few yesterday.

Dennis Gentry... fixed it!  I miss seeing him play.  Cohen needs to be on the field during 3rd and longs, occasionally in the slot, etc.  Nagy reminds me of a coach that has certain players he wants to play and forgets the other ones until there is like 2 minutes left.

Bears QBs like to go to the same couple of receivers game after game.  Hard to argue since Robinson is so successful.  But notice with Gabriel out more balls went to Miller.  But the #3 receiver (Wims) is ignored just as Miller was when he was #3.

But I can't fault the passing game too much, considering the Bears had their backup Daniel and he had absolutely no help from the run game and was in must pass situations most of the game.

If the Bears D could have shut down the run game they could have contended with the short passing game.  But with the short game accuracy of Carr AND the running game - Bears pass defenders were exposed.

Derek Carr carved up the Bears with short passes to predominantly TEs.  You won't find a household name among there skill position players besides Carr and the rookie Jacobs.

Short passes.  Double Mack and take your chances with the Floyd and the d-line.  That coupled with the total inability to stop the run.  We need Hicks and Nichols back now.

Speaking of Floyd.. WTF? Another wasted pick, what year is he?

Bars is pretty damn loyal to Coach Harry and the Bears in turning down a spot on the Pats 53.

The annoying thing is that the Bears OL got destroyed by a Raiders DL that was dominated by the Vikings OL and running game a week before the Bears DL manhandled the Vikings OL.  Welcome to parity in the NFL.

Nobody had any sacks in the Raiders game.  Carr is pretty mobile and adept at unloading the ball before getting sacked and with the Raiders strategy of short passes made it even more difficult to get to the QB.

And FYI Floyd has 2 sacks this season.
