Forte would be exactly what Nagy needs in this offense.  But I do like Montgomery's effort to move the pile and break tackles.  Something Forte lacked.  But his ability to catch the ball, his height, he was a true receiving weapon.

Interesting discussion point.  Payton had every tool, but lacked a top gear.  Barry Sanders had the top gear and every move in the book, but was a liability as a blocker, and so so in the passing game.

Every great running back likely lacked something, one tool.

With the speed of today's linebackers, hard to get to the outside. Need a good o line to open holes..

First of all, it was the Cowboys defense.  Still pleased with the outcome.

I've been asking this for weeks - why has Trubisky not been running.  Bears offense was not a juggernaut last year - you can't just take that away unless you get huge production from the run game.    I know his shoulder was messed up but he seems to know when to slide or run out of bounds.  This game he was turning up field moreso than not.

Bears finally have been getting production out of TE.  But for weeks, they trot Burton out there and got absolutely nothing.  If the guy was hurt he needed to be IRd.   We have no idea what Shaheen can do - might not ever find out.  Now Bears are playing free agents and non-drafted rookies and surprising teams who are most likely ignoring them on pass plays.

Pass rush has almost totally disappeared.  Mack is not getting double teamed that much.  Just not getting the sacks.  He's trying just coming up short.  If Akeem Hicks can be about 80% - it could be huge.

Glad we kept Kwiatowski.  But this JPP may be better.  Given 10 days he may even learn the playbook against the Pack.

Solid offensive tackle play against the Cowboys.  #73 didn't get called out for any penalties.   It will be interesting what the Bears do with him vs Massie.  Big challenge coming against the Smith brothers in Green Bay.

And my nomination for play of the game was the swing pass to Patterson to the left.  He turned nothing into a nice gain - awesome individual effort.

Trubisky needs to keeps drive alive with his legs.  Means more balls to our other receivers like Wims, Patterson and Ridley...and the no name TEs, and Montgomery.

Still doesn't look good for the playoffs.  The Charger, Ram and Eagle games has pretty much forced Bears to win out and they'll probably need help too.

Dallas - Good to see you back.  JPP?  You mean KPL?  I love what we are seeing out of the tight ends.  I don't care how we finally got here, but it is one of the missing elements all season.  What is interesting is to see what we have in Horsted.  If he does become the real deal, the fact that we left him on the practice squad for really any team to swipe - and the didn't - could be a huge key the rest of this season and next.  He appears to be a larger version of Burton, and hopefully more durable.

I don't remember anything about his blocking ability, but if I had to have one running back at the peak of his career for one game, it would be Gayle Sayers.

Moving on to the Packers game. We flat out have to hit Erin. Erin does not like to get hit.

I hope Nagy realizes the packers 6 or 7 DBs in most of the game last time. They did not attack the Peckers D very well.

Erin getting hit a lot today by Redskins. I hope that continues. Unfortunately Haskins is not a good QB.

I wasn't old enough to pay attention to Sayers until after his injury.

But when I see old games on TV I'm always impressed by how tough Sayers was.  He could take a beating.

The one thing I remember about Neal Anderson was he never tapped out like modern players.  Today a guy catches a pass he has to come off the field.

Too bad about Sayers knees - some of his knee injuries he had today he be out about 3 weeks. Modern medicine might have made Sayers the best NFL player ever. He also played in a time when the NFL was a lot dirtier - none of this flag football stuff.

He is a great guy - met him several times at charity events. He didn't like talking much about football - but the charity at hand - which was right.

I know he is not doing well right now physically. He had an extremely successful computer business.

Met Sayers once at a ND ACC basketball game. A great gentleman. Injuries damaged his career. His overall numbers dont show what he really was prior to his major injury. He was truely a great player. Highly underrated by long term Bears fans.
