Dodgers win 10-6, eliminating the Cardinals.  Let's hope the Cards aren't loose and relaxed tomorrow, because we need it a lot more than they do.

Cardinals are officially done.

Meanwhile, Norris looks really impressive through 2 for the Tigers. He's on a 90 pitch count, though, so he's probably not going more than 6 innings.

GOODRUM! 2 run triple, 3-0. Still only 1 out in the inning.

Miley hasn't given up more than 3 ER in any start this year, so this would be the first time if the Tigers could get this run in.

2 out infield single for Cain in the 3rd, then Yelich homers again. 3-2. It's getting to the point where you should just walk him every time.

Counsell pinch hit for Miley earlier in the inning, so he's going with the bullpen for 6 innings tonight.

What Yelich has done in the last week or two has to have given him an edge in the MVP voting.

The idea that anyone but DeGrom or Yelich is MVP is absurd.

An edge? No, what he's done in the last couple of weeks has made the MVP vote unanimous.

DeGrom has been more valuable to the Mets than Javier Baez has been to the Cubs?  I don't think so.

so it looks like the Cardinals won't be playing for anything tomorrow.

You don't think they'd like preventing the Cubs from winning the division and forcing them into a 1-game scenario?

deGrom has been by far the most valuable player in the league by WAR, even over Yelich. The only reason he's not going to win the MVP is that pitchers don't win the award unless it's just a really down year for position players.

I think that means a lot more to fans than it does to the players on the field.

I also think it's going to be difficult for them to get up to play their best tomorrow after the disappointment today.

Moustakas with a 1 out single to put runners on first and third with 1 out. Tigers lead is about to be gone.

Guess we'll have an idea based on what lineup Shildt puts out there. I'm betting it's nearly all the regulars.

Schoop double, tie game. Norris looked great in the first two innings, but has been awful the last two.

I guess getting any help from the Tigers was a pipe dream.
