Well, this is surprising after what happened to Slauson  Kind of surprised that Pace is talking new contract with the 30 year old Young. 

But then again a pass rusher doesn't have to start to be useful, a guard not so much.

Probably a good move for both parties.  Young gets insurance if he gets injured or if Floyd has a monster year.  Bears lock up a quality pass rusher that is very good against the run and probably has at least a couple more years left in his tank and provides future insurance if Floyd flops.
