This pretty much just gets them to barely below the cap.

More players are going to get cut or restructure so they can sign free agents.  I think any thought of a trade for a QB is gone.

Mack restructuring assures he won't be traded.   I believe trading him for the QB was the only shot to get one and be under the cap.

I am ok with that.  I did not want them to give up a ton of draft picks for a QB then have no team to support the new QB.

If Wilson gets traded before June 1 the Seahawks get the cap hit.

I don’t know if it’s the same for Watson.

I never was of the opinion they could afford a trade for a star QB.

I still think they are left with gambling on this draft for a starting QB with whatever leftover is available.

If that sounds optimistic, it isnt. Sadly. Its just being realistic.

I think Trubisky's market dried up with the cap crunch.  Maybe there s still somebody out there that might take him for a backup.

So we could get Trubisky back at bargain basement prices and draft a rookie?  I would be ok with that.  But I would think there is a veteran FA QB out there that could be had for the same price and do better.

Free agency starts Wednesday but we should start hearing who is signing where as early as Monday.

Bears signed their punter O'Donnell.  And now apparently are going to re-sign Mario Edwards to a 3 year deal - still need several more backup d-lineman.

I was always hopeful that he would turn into a stud DE for the Bears given his size and speed.  He was a very good backup for the Bears, but now will get a chance to play more and possibly develop into a top 3-4 guy.  $14M guaranteed is not too shabby.

Good news for the Bears is its looking like 5th round comp pick in 2022.

As much smoke as there is around Wilson, I actually think we have a better chance of getting Watson.

It sounds like he’s pretty adamant about not playing again for Houston.

Then to me it makes sense for the Jets to trade the second pick for him.   They get a young proven franchise QB and Houston gets Wilson.

I agree, unless the Jets are confident enough in their scouting to think that 5 years of Wilson on a rookie contract makes more sense than Watson at his current rate...
