Not at 9 - maybe not at 19.  He's a 3-4 guy with incredible measurables but isn't really an accomplished pass rusher.  You might play him at LBer and put him at DE on passing downs but we have 2 LBers.

Initially, I would go with Carter over Johnson.  That said, where is the draft the deepest?  At 3 tech or at OT?  I've heard that the draft is pretty strong on edge rushers, but like every year, what you think is a strength ends up drying up fast once teams start getting desperate and seeing the talent plucked off the board.

My observations after doing half a dozen mock drafts myself, is that there were 'name' edge defenders into about the 3rd round.  Defensive tackles almost as plentiful.  But offensive tackles dried up quickly.

I think football players today that have linebacker size are not opting to learn the traditional off the ball linebacker positions, the money is in the edge rusher.  So you see a lot of tweener edge guys 6-2 230 in that role.

What is harder to find after QB, OT or 3T?  If we get a shot at a stud OT, take him.  How many years have we been barely getting by at the position?  We need to be all about protecting and enabling Fields this year, so we know if we need to move on from him or not next year.

The Bears had 3 front office at the Ohio State pro day.

The only position coach was OL coach Chris Morgan.

PFF mock sim is free for the 1st 2 rounds but there is a daily limit.  I was able to grab Wilson, Schmitz, and D. Washington.

I was able to nab Wilson, Schmitz, and D. Washington

Not at all realistic, but that would be a dream outcome.

Funny, I tried again on my droid and I was still able to land Schmitz and Washington after taking Paris.  Getting those 2 without a trade up would be very lucky.

As I have said before, If Carter is gone I'd go with Paris Johnson @ 9. He has all the measurements to be LT for the next 10 years. The OSU WR isnt bad and would love to play with

Fields again, but we have just too many more pressing needs, since we already have Moore. Personally I think Poles is after Paris Johnson @9

As long as we don’t draft the Packers fan, I’m good…

I'm hoping the Bears sign some serviceable talent in free agency at RT, DE and DT.  Basically, talent that is better than what we got but not a player that is going to hurt you.

Then in the draft Poles can do whatever he wants in R1 such as go after a Carter, Wilson, Paris Johnson or another position like....I dunno...halfback?

Jalen Carter needs to go to a veteran defense with clear leadership that can keep him in line like Pittsburgh or Baltimore.
