They gone:
LAKE FOREST, Ill., — The Chicago Bears have cleared two roster spots by making some moves on Friday including letting go of a former third-round pick from Ryan Poles' first draft in charge.
On Friday, the Bears announced that they have waived wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. and have released fullback Khari Blasingame. Both players have been healthy scratches for the past few weeks for the team. Jones Jr. was a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and the first player on offense that Poles selected. But problems with fumbles led to him being benched as a receiver and on kickoffs. He also worked as a running back this training camp and got reps there in the preseason.
But with Jones Jr. being a healthy scratch, Poles has finally decided it's time to move on.
For Blasingame, the veteran was in his third season with the team but never really found a role as the team opted to keep an extra offensive lineman active on game days. Chicago has used Doug Kramer as a fullback in a jumbo package, opting for that instead of having Blasingame active.
