Wow the Browns had 8 first round picks 2012-2016 and none of them are on the roster now.

Shaq Lawson - DL - Bills

Bills DE Shaq Lawson has repped with the backups at training camp.

The Bills are going with Trent Murphy opposite Jerry Hughes. Lawson struggled with injuries as a rookie and had just four sacks as a full-time starter last year. Buffalo may try to shop Lawson for a conditional late-round pick before Week 1.

Aaron Rodgers new deal with the Packers will be with $176m-180m total, per source. Big feature is cash flow: $67m before end of calendar, over $80m before St. Patrick’s Day next year, $103m practically guaranteed, per source.

Wow, he will receive a bonus + salary this year of 67M, and another roster bonus of 16 M before march of next year. 80M in the next 7 months.

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a four-year contract extension with quarterback Aaron Rodgers worth $134 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Rodgers is expected to receive $80 million between now and March.

James Jones of NFL Network added that Rodgers will have over $100 million in guarantees.

Adam Schefter of ESPN provided additional details of the deal:

Schefter first reported the new deal was close and was "expected to be the largest in NFL history." Rodgers had two years remaining on his current contract.

The 34-year-old had a cap hit of about $20.6 million in 2018, which put him 14th among quarterbacks, per Spotrac.

Local ESPN radio guys says how good this contract is for the NFL and that it will increase pay for everybody because the NFL players generate so much income and are not equally compensated.

What this means is that we pay more for stadium tickets, more for NFL ticket, more for products advertised on games etc etc.

Will Rogers ever spend $134M - would he ever spend half that?  Kind of like CEO pay.

Are you really criticizing the player for the contract he got? The team thinks thats fair value or they wouldn't have done the deal... and the owners are making a killing. They can freeze prices and still make a killing.

Yes.  I am not siding with ownership or the players.  Sports salaries these days are nuts as well as what an average fan has to pay.

Players get 47% of the the 'defined' pie... as the pie grows their salaries keep going up. Good. they are the ones putting their health on the line.

If this means that the GB cant pay WR's as much... that is their issue to deal with. Increasing prices at games has nothing to do with player salaries, but the sustained push for higher profits.

Owners could choose to FREEZE revenues on ticket sales, lowering the pie available to players... instead they choose to bilk every dime out of you... and you blame players.
