McCown got 5 mill/yr from Tampa to be their starter. The Bears weren't going to pay a backup that kind of money. I don't begrudge McCown the money but as fragile as Cutler or as weak as our OLine protects.... maybe it would have been smarter to pay the extra money and kept McCown. He and Cutler got along well too.

Is it just me or are the Seahawks missing Dan Quinn more than they admit. He has Atlanta at 5-0.

Always glad when we can help someone get this:

The Lions became the last team in the NFL to win a game when they beat the Bears in Week Six and they did it with a lot of help from wide receiver Calvin Johnson.

Johnson caught six passes for 166 yards and caught a six-yard touchdown pass with 21 seconds to play to put the Lions up 34-31. The Bears would rally for a game-tying field goal, but Johnson’s 57-yard catch in overtime set the Lions up for Matt Prater’s game-winning kick.

As a result of his exploits, Johnson has been named the NFC’s offensive player of the week. It’s the fourth time that Johnson has been so honored, leaving him behind only Barry Sanders for most among Lions players.

Johnson’s performance was his best of a 2015 season that saw him average less than 10 yards per catch between the second and fourth weeks of the season. Getting more games like it would be a significant boost to the Lions’ chances of adding to their win total in the weeks to come.

Martellus would have won it if he didn't have butterfingers on those TD drops

I know, if I'm not mistaken, they were up 24 to nothing, and lost... WTF.. I told my wife, typical Lovie team..

Sitting here watching the Panthers vs Eagles. Rivera has that team playing solidly. And I'm noticing there's a former Bear...there's another former Bear....and another former Bear....  Makes it hard to stomach the mess the Bears are in. Will this team ever get it together?

My wife is a Bucs fan.  We watched them blow the lead, but only to be up by 3 points, the ball inside Washington's 10 yard line and they have just gotten stuffed on 3rd down.  The commentators start saying it looks like Smith is leaving them in on 4th down, and I said finally Lovie has learned.  2:40 left to go and they are going to go for it on 4th down, up by 3.  Then Lovie changes his mind to kick the FG.  I told my wife they are going to regret that decision.  Too much time on the clock and now you are forcing Washington to be aggressive and push the ball down the field.

In that situation, I would rather go for it on 4th down, and if you get the touchdown great, if you get stopped you have Washington starting  inside their own 10 with 2 minutes to go.  They will likely play it more conservatively going for the tie.  Sure enough, they kick the FG and then watch the Redskins drive right down the field and score with 24 seconds to go.  I was almost "Bears" pissed off at that result.  I knew it was going to happen.

If I was up by 1 or 2 points, I would have kicked, but to be up 3 and a TD can still beat you.  Just a poor call.

You mean all of the Bears that we didn't want on the team anymore?  Yah...

Let's look back see who wanted Olson gone, and who said Peanut was done, etc...  I will say I wanted the Bears to keep Tillman, but was meh on Olson.  So many fumbles with the Bears, but he had a pretty good chemistry with Cutler.  Who we also want gone, I know.  I actually like Bennett over Olson, though not sure why he is dropping so many recently

Allen is playing in a 4-3 scheme and most likely surrounded by better personnel.

Olsen is playing about the same as he did with the Bears - prior regime just didn't want to pay him when his rookie contract ended. I'll take  Bennett any day.

Tillman couldn't stay healthy with the Bears the last 2 years - they supposedly drafted his replacement in Fuller and didn't want to pay Tillman who also was a FA.

Peppers 2014 season was similar to what he had with the Bears for about 4 seasons prior - however this year he's having a great season.

Peppers and Allen gone before their time???

Take a look at the way the patriots do business then tell me those were bad moves.
