Wow JJ has left us.  RIP JJ. Who is going to take Miami D in the 1st round in memory of JJ?

I am still holding out hope that wasn't his obit but his pops and he is taking time off.  Sadly that hope is quickly fading.

We should line up someone to take his team...

  • That guy was a Sr. so he had a Jr.
  • Our JJ didn't post or talk like an 83 year old.
  • This guy passed in March but JJ's last post was February I think.
  • This leads me to believe his old man was ill and he took a break and just hasn't returned yet.
  • Our JJ knew his planes which would lead you to believe he grew up around them and ended up in the industry this old guy worked in.

They may just find another board they like more.

No. JJ has been with us through a number of boards. Thick and thin. He wouldn’t just up and leave like that. Hell he battled it out with that psycho Tampa Bay Fan many moons ago.

I noticed that a lot of JJ's posts were being ignored. I'd read them but very few would ever respond to him. This could be partly the reason he's gone. Also reading that obit it seems there may have been alzheimers involved and although JJ's posts were strange, JJ was strange but not Alzheimers strange. The obit said this older guy was 'the life of the party'. I can see that being JJ. But would he talk and act like our JJ? Hard to say but I'm leaning doubtful. This all leads me to believe the younger Jim Jr is our JJ. It just fits. So I'm thinking JJ's still around, just not here. Could be wrong. Dave, is there a way to see if someone is ghosting here? Reading or viewing but not posting? If so, might want to see if any of them have been JJ....

I wish I could find one of the old checks he sent to pay for the league.  I don't think some ever got deposited.  I will have to check in my junk drawer in the way back.  JJ always paid old school check by mail.

hmmm..  Just paid for the year.  Poking around I found this and I am going to activate it.

"TRADING FUTURE DRAFT PICKS
Commissioners now have the option to allow team owners to trade future draft picks up to three years
in advance. For Dynasty and Keeper Leagues, this can add a new strategic element that makes things
awfully interesting at the trade deadline - do you want to build a squad for the future or win now?
Commissioners can go to the Transaction Settings Commissioner Tool to
activate this new option."

Maybe allow trades later in the season also?  Later than the trade deadline the NFL imposes.  It is what makes the trade deadline more interesting in baseball than the NFL.

The league is paid for.  $160/15=$10.67 each.  Of course the champ is the only one who doesn't have to pay (Downward Legion).  You can pay via paypal again and JJ can send his obligatory check in the mail so I can put it in my bag for a couple years before I cash it.

I deleted the Flex position for the draft so we don't have the auto drafter over-drafting positions.  I will put it back on the roster after the draft.  The draft is the same day same time as last year.  Sunday Night before Labor Day, September 2, at 8:00 pm Eastern.  As always I suggest you make sure the draft room is working from the computer you plan on drafting from before this date and time.

I will get the draft order set up sometime this week hopefully.  I will get the schedules set sometime this month.

I reset the keepers deadline to 08/26/18.  Don't forget to do this.

If you are not playing I need to know ASAP so we can find replacements.

I am interested.  How late should we make the deadline?
