I'm holding a Bears Opener get together for a bunch of fellas I work with.I'm kinda up in the air what to cook, slow-cooked beef for samiches with peppers/onions on rolls? slow roasted pork shoulder finished with mumbo bbq sauce ? Plus for an appetizer bacon-wrapped potato quarters with cheese &jalapenos. So far the sides will be BLT salad, bbq beans, plus  chips, dip. Refreshments, plenty of Blue Moon and Dos Equis (amber),mebbe a little Jameson for the hardier drinkers ( cab rides for those who'll need it)...thoughts?

Notice you had to hide the pork taste with BBQ sauce?

Go with the beef ... it doesnt need anything.

Oh ... and lots of shimp and lobster for Sporty ...

he just cant get enough of it.  :P

It goes back to Brazil and spiders.  ;)

Mumbo bbq sauce is my favorite for smoked ribs.  Just the right flavor.

Outside of bacon and smoked ham ... pork is a developed taste.

Havent got into it when I tried it.

And believe me I had enough force fed into me as a kid in the midwest.

Eat that pork chop or you cant leave the table ! Cant we have steak instead ?

Finish your meal ! Do you know what it took to feed you ? Your father works so many hours ...

 I'll take beef anyday.

Plus shimp and lobster for Sporty.

Jackie, that is funny.  As a kid growing up my dad used to cook steak all the time, since he never had it as a kid.  I grew so sick of it.  He liked ribs too, and I love them now, and pretty much any pork product.  Would take pork over beef any day.

Are you kidding me?  Best meal ever would be a filet mignon and a lobster tail soaked in melted butter...

So you are backing off now ? You thought anything with 8 legs was bad.  ::)

And lemon juice on the lobster with the melted butter ... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Notice thats beef and lobster ... not pork and lobster.

Guess it depends on where you live at.  ;)

Heres one to fuuuck your head up :

Where is the place that most Maine lobster is delievered from?

 Maine ... right?  Wrong !

Louisville Kentucky ... home of UPS.

I'd KILL for some Dunkin Donuts and White Castle sliders.

You just cant get them on the West Coast.  :P

I can't think of any kind of meat I don't like. Chicken, Steak, Pork, Seafood I even like cat if that is really cat at the Chinese restaurant!
I'm not crazy about lobster and definitely won't overpay for it.
I guess I would try most anything once.

Not much on liver though.

Slow cooked pork ribs with a good rub are really good.
Take a Boston butt slow cooked all day with a little vinegar based sauce, that is really good!
Fried Pork chops with rice and tomatoes.

Yeah the whole liver thing ... my mother would fry that up for my father and I would leave the house.

 THE SMELL.
