The Michael Lombardi interview (scroll down to 11/14) is worth a listen.  What I got from it was that 1) McDaniels is probably not coming here.  One lesson he took from Denver was that he did not have "his guys" in personnel and in order to do things the "Patriots Way" he would have to clean house, including scouts etc. That will not happen with Pace in charge.  And 2) (duh) Teddy absolutely needs to get the f*ck out of anything related to football operations otherwise things will never change.

IMO, money will not be an issue with Harbaugh.  Harbaugh currently has total power and control in Michigan and is loving it right now.  If Harbaugh wanted the Bears job, I have no doubt that he is THE one guy that the McCaskeys will not hesitate to shovel above market money his way.  The issue is how he gets along with Pace and an accountant on an ego trip.

What would have been fun, and we should have done this already, is to pick the players we'd draft and compare them against what the Bears drafted and watch them and see how they work out. I'll bet a few of us outpick the Bears right off the bat....

Sound like a topic needs to be created on draft day.  Only for who is your pick not who should be drafted.  Straight up my round one pick is...

“I think the biggest thing, to be honest, that can help Tarik is the other guys start stepping up and start playing well around him and become more reliable receivers where maybe some of the ball distribution (improves) and attention goes away (from him) a little bit,” Loggains said.

No don't be honest...just lie to us.

You've got mediocre receivers...at best...and you have a guy on your team that will draw coverage away from those mediocre receivers which should help them become more productive.  But instead you bench the guy that draws the coverage thereby making it more difficult for your mediocre receivers to get separation.

"Did you see that ?  they doubled Tarik and Wright was wide-open.  Ok, Tarik go take a seat on the bench"

I've said this for weeks - Loggains need to study up on how teams used Darrell Sproles cuz Loggains hasn't a clue how to use Cohen.    And this stuff about Tarik making it harder on Trubisky to read expected defenses.  Every week we hear Trubisky says "they're doing something we haven't seen".  So what's the difference with Cohen in the lineup?

The only thing Loggains needs to do is study up on how to fill out his unemployment application.

The more I read and hear, the more sad I become about our coaches.  He11, they never give Cohen the ball on the end around either.  He is always a decoy.  Could he not also split out and take 15 touches on the outside, aka Josh Bellamy?  Double cover him there, should make the defenses easier to read.

When the Bears had the two back set in with Cohen and Howard, it actually had me a little excited.  Used to be Payton and Roland Harper in the backfield together, we can't figure out Cohen and Howard.  That is really depressing to read.

Nobody is advocating giving Cohen half the load.  Give him 5 or 6 runs a game and maybe 2 or 3 passes.

What I don't understand is when Trubisky drops back why not let Cohen drift into the flat or over the middle as a safety net.  If a linebacker covers him throw him the ball - if he's double covered then maybe someone else is open?

Loggains comments pretty much explain what I've been seeing on the field.

The wide receiver merry go around is also a cluster.

Cut Deon Thompson, promote Gentry, Wheaton sits, cut Gentry, sign Inman, bench McBride, promote Bellamy...Wheaton sits.

Instead of blaming the receivers for running the wrong patterns - why not coach them up?

And if Wheaton is ready to go you get him out there - unless you think he was faking the appendectomy, broken finger and groin.

We have to have the slowest set of wideouts in the NFL - you would think that the threat of Wheaton and his speed would help the offense.

Also more then one player per round.

I would have been happy with Latamore - Jamal Lewis - Adorhee Jackson in the first.

Perhaps a set number of players per round could be instituted.

i .e.: You only get to pick 500 players per round.  ;D

Or would that be too complicated and just stick to one per round ?

What if everybody picked QB's tho DA BEARS don't need one ?

See what they did and report back at the end of 2018 ?

And as we get closer to game day with the Lions, the more I feel the Bears get back on track with a win

JJ - The topic would only be used when the Bears are on the clock for everyone to record who they would pick from who is available.  No speculations.  Just make the pick when the Bears are on the clock.  Then archive it and it can be compared a few years later if your pick outperforms who the Bears selected that was available.  Then there wouldn't be any "hindsight is 20/20" people saying, "I would have picked Tom Brady in the third round.  What the **** were the Bears thinking..."

Any speculations or who they should pick or who you think they will pick get deleted.  The only posts remaining in the topic should be what YOUR selection would be when the Bears are on the clock.  That means you would have to be posting to the board during the draft.  Especially if they happen to trade up.
