He'll have a lot to work with.  Packers big problem last year was their injuries and their defense not getting turnovers.  Pack has a 3rd place schedule and 2 first rounders (4 picks before the Bears pick late in round 3).

Rodgers is still a top 5 QB....easily.

I'm shopping for home/auto insurance right now - State Farm so far has the best quote.  Maybe I pay more and go with another company so I'm not lining Rodgers pockets.

The problem with State Farm and most other companies is they're consolidating underwriting and claims to megacenters like Dallas, Phoenix.  When they do that they lose their experienced employees and hire millenials and train them to work by way of "processes' rather than their own judgement and intelligence.  They churn through these employees who see no future.
The end result is the product you're buying is largely the same mediocre product very similar with all companies.

Try Liberty Mutual. Claim office in Mishawaka Indiana. Good company. I have mine through Citizens through an independent agency

That's who we have and they're very good. We had a large huge limb fall on a small section of roof and they bought us a entire new roof (shingles, gutters, even threw in some money to redo our back deck which wasn't damaged). Very easy to deal with. I'm guessing rates and companies are different in different areas, though. Don't know.

I have State Farm and have been with them over 20yrs. I have had numerous auto claims over the years and they took care of them. My wife was involved in A horrific car accident a few years back. The teenager that hit her had the minimal insurance from one of those internet insurance companies. State Farm was able to “stack” our benefits with those of our young adult son(still living at home) to more than double our payout to help us with her bills. I had a lot of damage during hurricane Florence, it took a few phone calls but they took care of us. I have a friend that runs a Farm Bureau office, I took him my info one time and he said he could not match the price they were giving me. One of the adjusters that came out to our house after the hurricane said he worked for many insurance companies over the years. I asked him which were the good ones and which were the bad ones. He said most of the big companies take care of their customers. He said the little companies usually have to run tighter ships to turn a profit. In other words if you have a wall that has water damaged they pay to repair the wall vs replace it. If you have a damaged piece of flooring they pay to fix the damaged part instead of replacing it all etc. It also helps to have a good agent. Even though claims go through a different department, when I had an issue, I spoke to my agent and he was able to make things happen. If your agent isn’t asking you to come by every couple of years to check your coverage, get a new agent. Our agent was able to significantly increase our auto coverage over the minimum for our state for basically nothing.

hey otto'd....nice hire...

Peckers look like the Bears pre-Pace. How do the Peckers keep Mark Murphy? From the National Media>>>>

Another puzzling hire for Packers

Mark that as the second stunning hire the Packers have made as they look to take advantage of the twilight of Rodgers’ prime after several disappointing seasons in the Mike McCarthy era.

But as teams have consistently looked to young offensive-minded coaches during this NFL offseason, maybe the Hackett hire shouldn’t come as such a surprise.

As the Packers roll the dice on another coaching hire, it’s hard not to wonder if they’re failing Aaron Rodgers in the twilight of his prime.

LaFleur, Hackett have mixed results as coaches

The Packers hired LaFleur, the 39-year-old former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator who oversaw a 2018 unit in Nashville that fielded the NFL’s 25th-ranked offense and saw quarterback Marcus Mariota throw for 180.6 yards per game with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions on the season.

Green Bay appears to be leaning on LaFleur’s prior experience, which included working as the  coordinator for the league-leading 2017 Los Angeles Rams offense under Sean McVay.

But it’s not exactly a résumé  that screams “hire me” to work with one of the greatest quarterback talents to every play.

I think we all knew Rodgers was hard to get along with. No surprise.

The Butkus thing? Dick is probably not caring for that.. Other than that? Not much..

Rodgers in that hat looks like he's heading to broke back mountain..

Nothing remarkable. It's not like he is an impact Player. Plus Peckers lose Matthews and Perry.

Milwaukee Journal .....In Amos, the Packers are getting a mid-level starter who started all 16 games last year and had 73 tackles, a sack and two interceptions. He also had nine pass break-ups and a forced fumble.

At the combine in 2015, the 6-foot, 218-pound Amos ran the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds and registered a 35½ -inch vertical leap.

Amos, a fifth-round pick, played second fiddle to safety Eddie Jackson on the Bears’ outstanding defense. Jackson made more big plays than Amos, who in four years has just three interceptions.

The Packers will expect him to start, but they are still going to have to make another move at the position because they do not have an established ballhawk in the deep middle. It’s possible they’ll move cornerback Josh Jackson to safety, but he would need a lot of training.

They traded Dix in-season so there was something they didn't like...maybe his team leading 3 interceptions?

OK, so Packers have added a couple solid young pass rushers in Za'Darius Smith and Preston Smith.  They will be teamed with Fackrell who had a quet 10 1/2 sacks last season.    Now we know why the Bears re-signed Massie and Leno last year.  Packers should be improved and don't forget they have 2 first round draft picks.

Looking at Amos' stats the last 4 years he is not what I would call a play maker but based on his PFF rankings the last couple of years - he's what I would call a play preventer.  He had his best season in 2018 with more touches but how much of that was a credit to the BEars improved pass rush?

Amos is not star. Adequate starter. Nothing more - he needs a star player next to him

VJ - great article. Not all is good in Cheeseville.

"A checked-out coach. A tuned-out quarterback. A soap opera where there should have been a dynasty. And those who saw the Aaron Rodgers-Mike McCarthy wreckage up close say we didn't know the half of it."

TWO losing seasons in a row. Love it!

"McCarthey has the lowest football IQ on record" - LOL!
