Mitch has issues putting the ball where it needs to be.

All of his passes wobble as well...

He throws high or behind the receiver and rarely hits a receiver in stride.

He has played ok but needs to play better for this team to take the next step.  If it weren't for the two INT's today I might feel differently.

The D had a pretty good game but they need a better pass rush.  Mack needs to get rolling.  I had high expectations for the D and they have not come close to meeting them.

2-0 is great but these were against two beat up bad teams.  The better teams will own them if they don't improve.

Mack and Quinn are not 100%.  Pass rush was better this week.

Bears have always had a problem when they get ahead of a team and they go into pass only mode.  Bend don't break defense and offense goes conservative.

Have yet to see the game in full but I was sweating the 2nd half. Redzone rarely went to the game (the only turnover shown was the Giants Int in the sidelines).....

As a kind of fun aside, during one of look ins to the Eagles game, it sounded like they piped in some booing crowd noise over the broadcast, which considering Philly I thought was quite appropriate...... :D

Most of you may not be old enough to remember Allen Ellis (the most underrated Bears corner, in my opinion), but Jaylon Johnson reminds me of him in one respect.

The reports on him were questionable after the draft (the best I remember was "not too fast, not too big, but quick to the ball").  During his first season the media followed him closely, pointing out some mistakes, but generally saying he wasn't as bad as they thought.  After that season, you seldom heard anything about him.  The reason was that he had become the best secondary man on the team, and opposing teams just stopped throwing in his direction.  He didn't make a lot of great plays, because he was not allowed to make ANY plays (OK, not many plays), and there was little reason to mention his name or show his replays, since the passes went to the opposite direction.

Much too early to say, but so far, most replays you see show him being a competent corner, and the replays became fewer and fewer as the game went on.  I suspect that, barring injuries, the Bears got a good one.  Combining him with Fuller is going to make a big difference going forward, in my opinion.

Allen Ellis, Virgil Livers...  there was a white cornerback  Terry Schmidt?  He was horrible.  Must have been playing opposite Allen Ellis, lol

I do remember Alan Ellis - #48?  Also had a big thick beard like that Houston Rocket player...Harden.   I don't know that Ellis was even drafted - maybe in the 13th round or something or a free agent, but he was one of the best players on those Bears teams in the 70s.

As for Jaylon Johnson, he is first round talent.  He probably slipped because of the shoulder.  He's bigger than Ellis.  Johnson checks all the boxes at the combine and his pro day, and has held up well these last 2 games.  He'll continue to be tested, but he and Fuller could be among the top corners in the NFL.

Please don’t remind me of the 70’s Bears.

I saw where Johnson had the lowest QBR of any of the corners drafted before him

Silent Bears...on defense.

In the backfield we've seen Fuller, Johnson and Jackson make plays, even Bush now.  But what about Gipson?  He's showing up in the stat sheet but he's kind of quiet.  He might be doing his job and preventing big plays but I hardly hear his name called.

Barkevious Mingo.  I'll admit I didn't like the signing, but he recorded a sack Sunday.  Good for him.  I like it that he take snaps while Quinn works back into shape.  Once that happens then he can give Mack a rest on the other side.   Pass rushers are so hard to find in the NFL - if the Bears can get half a dozen sacks and consistent play from him that'll be a huge unexpected bonus.

Ray Robertson-Harris.  Kind of quiet.   He came to the Bears as an OLB and was one of my favorite projects.    Bulked up to play 3-4 DE from 260s to 290.  But now is playing a lot of 4-3 DT.  He just doesn't have the bulk/frame to play inside - especially against the run.

Ellis was the fifth round draft choice in 1973.
