I was hoping this would be the year Mitch would show some progress. What a debacle, trade down for an eventual bust. I said at the time Mitch was drafted.. Pace is putting his career on the line.. Once again, no fukking QB.. WTF?

1. that ruffing the QB call against the Bears was ridiculous. Watched it over and over on the highlights. I just don't get it.

2. Hate to defend Mitch, but the interception was Graham's fault, he wasn't looking at the QB. He had no idea the pass was thrown to him.

Where was the running game for most of the day? If it wasn't for that 1st down run at the end of the game Montgomery's #s would be more sickening than they were.

That 2019 7th round pick Kerrith Whyte is on the Lions practice squad. Josh Adams is on the Jets practice squad. I'd grab someone off a practice squad to fill Cohen's spot.

Bears have a DL problem. Trevathan looks washed up.

Not only was Graham not looking for he ball, but he was slowing down.   BUT Mitch should never have thrown that ball.  Nagy was looking for a spark and found it with Foles.

As for Foles, he threw 3 TDs, but he had 2 others that should have been.  The pass to Robinson that again got swiped and the drop in the end zone by Miller.

Foles is much more comfortable in the pocket than Trubisky and he's got a better deep ball.

It's got to be Foles next Sunday.

Bears can bring up Pierce - but I'd be up for signing Kerrith Whyte. He has sub 4.4 speed.  I know he returned kickoffs in preseason last year  - can he return punts?

Bears defense  plays a lot of 4-2-5.  The problem with that is the offense can double team one side and one or more of their blockers go after Trevathan and Smith and they've been winning those blocks.  There's no safety help because Bears play a lot of cover 2.

But somehow those guys in the 4th quarter applied enough pressure to make Ryan become ineffective.  DBs also did a great job...at the end.

Pekin,

That Jimmy G quote is more damning of Nagy IMO.  If the QB is changing plays in huddle....its because the OC is calling shitty plays.

Leave it to the Bears to "discover" a starting NFL QB that was right in front of their faces and that nearly everyone outside the building knew was there....

That said, Biscuit will have to play again this year as Foles probably will not stay uninjured (that game winning TD where he got tattooed is a case in point). I saw that and said to myself- "That's so Bears. Win the game, lose the QB"

Definitely a wierd 3-0. Better than being a Viking fan for sure.... :D

ROFLMFAO

The discovered what they signed.  A career backup.  They won't discover a starting QB until they find one not on the current team.

Nagy better keep Miller off of returns.  It would be as smart as putting Jackson out there...

Most career backups don't have Super Bowl MVP trophies.

That said, Swag Kelly...

Nuke the 2020 Falcons from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure

At least we are not the Falcons atm..... This would be my reaction too if the Bears were 0 and 3 (I expected them to be 1-2 BTW).....

Bears got a lot of money tied up in the 2 tackles.  This year Leno's been somewhat inconsistent but his pass blocking has improved from last year and so have the penalties.   Massie is serviceable - he made a poor decision yesterday but physically he's holding up well.

Yesterday the Bears passed 51 times and gave up 2 sacks.  Neither on Foles.  But it WAS the Falcons.

Bears might be able to draft a LT type but play him at RT and let Massie go.  Or just replace Leno.   Or maybe our two OTs are good enough and Bears can look it another position early on in the draft.

if you think Leno is doing OK you haven't been watching THE TAPE NEVER LIES tape reviews of the games.

Leno sucks, accept it, stop blowing smoke up your ass. We got good use out of a undersized 7th round pick, but it's over, he's done, he's not getting any better.

I don't watch the line play, so they only show up for me when I see the QB getting pressure or the Rb getting hit in the backfield.  Until Jarrett went out, we were seeing a lot of that, and to me it appeared that a lot of the pressure was coming right up the middle.  Mitch was sacked twice but seemingly under pressure a lot more.  I kept saying this is the Falcon's defense were are playing and we're making them look like the Ravens.

Leno started his career as a right tackle several years ago and appeared to play better on the left.  If his money is a sunk cost, it might be time after the season to consider moving him back to right tackle?
