And someone, please smack Tru for that ignorant throw! He can't keep doing that if he 'Tru'ly wants to progress....

There shouldn’t have been 2 receivers next to each other.

If Holts drifted over there with the defender it’s on him.

It may have been an open pass when Tru threw it.

Why is Holtz out there and why is the ball thrown in his direction?  There was no creativity in the pass patterns - still Mitch should have thrown it away or scrambled to extend the play.

You could see Trubisky throughout the game avoiding risky throws.  He made 2 today and one was costly.

You hate to see the pick but you like the 33 points and even though Montgomery had a huge day Mitch made some critical throws on 3rd down.

It seems like the game may be finally slowing down for him a bit...

Hard to say.

Trubisky hasn't faced top defenses lately.  There's no big names on the Vikes front 4 and their leading tackler Kendricks was out.

Trubisky looks a lot better with an offensive line that pass blocks and opens holes for the run game.  But the Bears interior 3 are opening up holes that weren't there in October and NOvember.

FWIW haven't watched the whole game yet, but it appeared that at least 2 of the TDs the D gave up were coverage errors of some sort...

Trubisky CANNOT throw that redzone INT. Can NOT............

Looks like Monty got more rushing attempts today (and the Oline is doing what they were not doing for the last 2/3 of the season). What a concept Nagy... Feed the Hot Hand.....

Still feel its all Fools Gold though.....

Anytime the Bears win at Minneapolis, I am an extremely happy man...

But then I think about next year and the salary cap hell, George's hesitation to shake things up, and a quickly aging Mack and defense potentially without Fuller.  Even if the Bears wanted to keep Trubisky with the Tannehill lightbulb on in his head (redzone INT notwithstanding), they can't afford him and he hates Nagy.  So they will be stuck with Foles/rookie/FA.  But hey they got a kicker who kicks ass...

What do you think the market for Mitch is going to be?  I believe he will only be receiving back up offers.  Why wouldn't they be able to afford that if they are going to be in the market for a FA backup anyway?  And if that is the case why wouldn't Mitch be interested if he knows there is a very good chance to be a starter?  I could see them working out a very bonus heavy two or three year contract that would be good for both sides.  Good form Mitch if he starts and hits the bonuses.  Good for the team if he doesn't and he is just receiving backup pay.

Best comp I can think of is Mariota at 2 yr/$17.6/$7.5 guaranteed.  If Mitch balls out that could be the floor considering his competition in the FA market.  Who's to say there would not be a team that considers him a starter?  Jax spent on Foles, Bears with Glennon, Seattle with Flynn, and so on.  Before this season started, Pace pulled out the credit card and really invested in Foles and Quinn in a win now save his ass mode.  I don't see how they can fit a ton of money into the QB position even if Foles didn't hit his juicy incentives to allow for an early opt out.  We'll see I guess...

And yes I know Glennon was ultimately a smokescreen in Pace's diabolical plan to shock the NFL world.  But 3 yrs/$45/$18 guaranteed is nothing to sneeze at...

Others on the market with him are Cam Newton, Jamis Winston and Phillip Rivers. Not to mention Stafford and Prescott could be had via trades...  I think that keeps his cost down considerably.

Montgomery's game was the first that ever reminded me of Walter Payton at his best.  Now, if he can only do it for ten years.

Loved the wood he was laying during his runs but Walter he is not (nor can anyone be). Walter could vault over the line, throw the football and kick fieldgoals ! Damn its been a long time without that........

Walter Payton was special and when he took over a game, nothing could stop him. Monty couldn't hold Walters jockstrap. Walter at his best was better than everyone else.....

When Walter was great, the rest of the team sucked. When the team got better, Walter was a shell of his former self. Great athlete, great person. Players today could learn a lot...
