I can if I absolutely have to, root for the Packers.  But I can never root against the Bears.

I'll still be screaming my head off during the game - but afterward there is a calmness after these recent losses knowing that the Bears have climbed up the draft board.

Not only climbing up the draft board but not being embarrassed (other than Dallas) while doing it.

Other then a mega paycheck for Smith ... who did we get rid on defense and what are they doing now ?

History suggests Chifan is right....too much history honestly. I think instead of picking high they should get as many picks as possible, that way they're more likely to hit on some then to miss on one or two....

Poles will have to hit on more than the average just to get this team towards average talent-wise. The odds are not good, but then again, miracles do happen ! :D

He surely has to hit the high ones. Its where the must hit begins.

Expecting future rookies to produce especially their first year is asking a lot.

The current rookies Brisker, Gordon, Jones and Sanborn and Velus Jones need to take big steps next year.

Short term improvements should come from the FAs but even that's a crap shoot.

It appears the Bears are planning on starting Fields against the Pack Sunday. I personally think thats way too dangerous

If he's healthy then why shouldn't he play?  Fields needs to get reps and the OC has to work with Justin to be more aggressive in the passing game rather than just taking off as much as he does.  Getsy also has to scale back the QB runs.

The only thing I worry about is the junior high offensive line will allow Fields to get hit even if he completes passes and runs for first downs.

If/when Nathan Peterman takes over at QB, any chance the refs feel sorry for the Bears and let some calls go our way?  Didnt think so, especially against he Puke.  lol

The only thing I worry about is the junior high offensive line will allow Fields to get hit even if he completes passes and runs for first downs.

Siemen got sacked twice last week and one was on a total F-up where Borom just ignored his man.

If Fields is healthy enough that he is not feeling pain and not at risk from doing further damage from his shoulder - play him.  If not sit him.

But Getsy has to limit the called QB runs.  Fields is pretty smart about the scrambles - he usually has the vision to know when to slide.  Less of that vision when he's running on a QB running play.

Fields is not “healthy “ but sports medicine doctors say there’s no particular risk of making it worse.

His shoulder gives him a lot of pain and will affect his throwing to some extent.

I’m more worried about getting his leg rolled up on or a severe concussion.

I would rather see Fields roll out every play and only run when there is a clear path to not getting hit.

No need to blow the engine in time trials.

Agreed. Sit him. The remaining schedule is too dangers to blow the engine up.

Like you arent winning any of the games if he does play, you just endanger his career, which seems what some here want

And lets not overlook the Pack with dirty/late hits on Fields.  Lets protect him from that as well.
