Think everyone needs to remember who they played. The Seahawks are one of few teams projected to actually be below the Bears this season. Definitely not getting any hopes up from this game....

One of the most impressive things about the first two games was the lack of penalties.  This is probably not affected by the quality of the opposition.

Unforced penalties <- lack of discipline
Forced penalties  <- lack of talent

Looks like from what I can find, Saturday's Bears game wont be televised live. You have to wait till Monday @ 3pm on the NFL channel

That was an impressive TD pass. Let’s hope that becomes his norm.

I will take this version of the offense all year.

I was impressed by the starters play. 21-0 at the 2:00 minute warning. We can only hope this is the kind of play we have to look forward to this year.

Finally a quarterback with more than a pop gun arm.

There will be talk of the offensive line playing well, but man there sure were some wiffed blocks against the Browns starters.  Blocking the 9’ers could get ugly.

Browns kept their best players on defense out.  If Fields has time he can be very productive.  He won't have time.

It sucks but that is reality.

I hope that our coaches have a game plan that can stand up to reality when the real bullets start flying.

1. Fields has never looked better.

2. Who would of thought Reiff and Schofield would be bench warmers? Schofield could get cut. the OL is going to wind up much better than expected. If they played Eiselen over Mustipher the line would be better.

3. Pettis stepped up. same with Coulter.

big question on offense is wr. What are they going to do to cover the injuries to Pringle and Harry? Moore is already on the DL. Sharpe looked good earlier.

Defense looked disciplined. DL I still think is weak. Is Mario Edwards still alive? Tonga is MIA.

Only guy I thought looked bad was Kyler Gordon. thought he stunk.

big question on defense is CB. With Graham and Young not playing how do you evaluate them? I can't guess who makes the cut.

Gordon had that nice pass break up on 3rd down.

Offense looked better than I can remember.  It is all about play calling.  I think we probably lose Getsy after one year if he keeps calling games like that.

I do think the DL by end of year will be known as the weak spot of team.  I believe teams that stick to the game plan of throwing will have problems with us.  Those that are run heavy will dominate LOS.

I think this team better than national media portrays.  It is going to come down to health.  Monty, Kmet, Mooney, Smith, Quinn are the key to our season.  If any of them go down for considerable amount of time will influence win/loss record.   I actually think we can win with Siemian if Fields were to go down.  I am not saying he is better than Fields, just he seemed above average for backup role this preseason.

Pleasantly surprised by the 1st half, not so much the 2nd. FWIW:

The Good
1. Fields looked confident, poised and accurate even though it was versus a Browns D without their starting pass rushers and a few odds and ends though. That 3rd TD pass was just an example of  taking advantage of a rookie defense mistake. However, in the past it would have probably been incomplete (or dropped) so baby steps.....
1a. Finally a flag for a late hit vs Fields. Maybe the tide has turned ?

2. Players were flying around out there on both sides of the ball. And (at least for a half) few penalties.

3. Team looked prepared and ready to play (at least the starters).

The Bad
1. That second half. Ugh. Saw a lot of players heading toward their post-nfl careers. Riley Reiff's (who should KNOW better) idiotic late hit kills a chance to keep a drive alive. Stupid penalties allow a 19 (!) play drive for a TD. Scrubs (and a few who should know better) bumbling and stumbling around. Didn't get the strong finish I'm sure Flus was hoping for.....

2. It seems that when Semian or Peterman came in the Bears prevent offense cranked up again. God help this team if we have to see their butts on the field during the season (haven't we seen enough bad QB play in Chicago to last a few lifetimes ?)

Well, the dress rehearsal is over. Time for the real deal to begin. Let the roller coaster fly ! Go Bears !

I get the feeling that Gordon will be a game changer in the slot.  I'd expect we will see him in some blitz packages, uncovered with a direct line to the QB.  Will be interesting to see.
