To put a positive spin on this truly sub-optimal offense takes a bit of explaining (and copium). Maybe they are calling these early games like they have done in games. Establish something (the run) early on. Later on (in the game and now the season) play things off of them. Then again, it just as could be the OSU and/or Chicago QB curse.

This game felt like one from the 70's. The Bears are due for another SB run sometime this decade (they seem to put together something every generation or so 63/85/2006) but unless they enter into the 21st century offensively (finally) it would take a unique combination of stars, mojo, karma and luck to do so (maybe 2026 ?......).

i'll be happy if Justin is accurate enough to be checkdown charlie at this point.  And so far he hasn't yet.  I was looking at Krenzel/Quinn/Hutch stats in '04 and damn I am concerned with this kid's confidence right now.

And Velus needs get on the fuckin field already.  Not so they can use his 4.3 to bomb away.  They need another option beside Mooney and Kmet to use his YAC ability in the short passing game.

Agreed - and we also need him on special teams.  Punt AND kick off returns.

The millionth bootleg and it works again.  WTF?

Can we not adjust to stop it?  It isn't like it is some revolutionary concept.

All of our picks next year need to be OL.  ALL of them.  And maybe DL too.  And of course WRs.  We are in need of a major talent upgrade.  How about have 1 D player spy Barkley and another the QB.  Problem solved.  Lets see what half time adjustments they make.  We know Nagy would just keep doing the same.  I dont have high hopes for this game.

The OL is awful against a below average defense.

Fields may get killed.  He was limping that last play.

I think Patrick gave up sacks at both guard positions.

At least Fields looks better.

This is what happens with rookies in critical spots.

Geez.  Only the Bears can knock out the 1st and 2nd string QB and still lose the game.

Both Gordon and Brisker have regressed from preseason.  I admit I had been drinking the koolaide, and was hoping for a surprising winning season.  Now I am hoping for the worst record in the NFL and want the best draft pick we can get.  Sad after only 4 games to be like that, but seriously, did you see todays game?  Velus Jones, pathetic. Cole Kmet, pathetic.  Pettis, pathetic.  The whole team is like watching the bad news Bears, maybe a high school team, overachieve sometimes against a pro team.  Now yes I was planning on the Bears being 2-2 at best, but I am off the superfan juice.  Just tank the rest of the way and get it over with.  At least I dont have to have any more expectations the rest of the year.  Which blows.

I focused on the O-line the entire game.  Braxton Jones is solid.  Borom had a solid game too as did Jenkins although he did wiff on a spin move.  The problem with the O-line was primarily with Mustipher and Patrick.  Bears need to move Patrick to center and get Mustipher out of there.   I hope Whitehair is OK he's been the Bears most consistent O-lineman.  I think Patrick is starting because of his connection with Getsy.

Watching a bit of the Chiefs/Bucs - the ball is out of there in 2 seconds.  There's so much wrong with the offense I don't know where to begin.

Defensively, Brisker and Gordon, especially Gordon get exposed.  Gordon makes Vildor look like a pro-bowler.  The interior D-line rarely gets penetration.  The linebackers miss tackles.  The best player on D today was Jackson.

And the D gets constantly fooled by fake hand offs especially the ends as they try to tackle the half back who doesn't have the ball.  And when is #55 going to make a play - why is he starting?  Because he has connection with Eberflus from the Colts.
