I just know one thing....we've been at this for decades, griping together. I just want to watch them win for once, have a winning season. This losing is past getting old....it's done been there, bought the shirt, built a house and is living rent free.....

If you think about it. It's almost as if we never fully recovered from Dave Wannstedt... We've had no consistency.. The once in awhile we're up, we have an injury that the team can't overcome.. Ap Ap Ap.... We suck..

At this point we just have to see some sort of progress every week out of our young guys (i.e. Fields)  and be satisfied with that and deal with the losses.  The upside is that the draft position improves which means Poles has more opportunities to trade down and bring in hopefully more quality players.   This team will need around 3 rookies starting next year along with at least 2 or 3 good quality free agents (1 offensive lineman, 2 WRs, 2 defensive lineman at the least).

BUT, its all about the QB.  If Fields ain't it - then the Bears will be another 3 or more years away from being competitive.

Wow. Agreed 32 5th, 32 6th and 32 7th rounders . Thats an incredible 96 new players to bring in to fortify the roster.

If the Bears don't have to chase after a rookie QB in the next draft there may be opportunities to trade down the high #1 (maybe top 5 or so).  Additionally, the 2nd rounder will be high.  I'm not suggesting trading out of the first or the second round just perhaps sliding down a few spots which you can do if you are drafting in the top of each round.

The goal would be to add a couple more players in the top 100 without sacrificing losing studs in R1 or R2.

I don't know where we will be drafting or what positions we will be drafting from next year but if the Bears are at the top of each round there's more room to trade down and collect more picks.

If you knew how to read instead of just spouting out your ass you'd have understand that I suggested that the Bears could use 3 or more starters out of the next draft.  That's kind of hard to do with a bunch of draft picks in R5 and beyond.

Calm down Dallas. The love Poles has for rounds 5, 6, and 7 is visible. The results are visible so far. Admittedly the jury is out on his round 2 and 3 selections but you need to tone down your praise for him. We'll see what Poles does with 58. I expect him to pass on re-signing him. Too expensive for the Arlington Park Bears

I am not praising Poles.  I'm trying to look at the bright side of what's looking like another tough season for the Bears.   Got to find some hope and that's the young players developing (read Fields) and a better draft position next year to "hopefully" bring in more quality talent.

I will agree with you so far on the jury being out on the #2 and #3 picks.   Gordon was abused early in the season but may be coming around.  Brisker makes some big plays vs the run but also gave up some too.  I don't see him around the ball in the air.  Could it be that QBs avoid going after his guy?  I dunno.   We need to get the ball to Velus more - but not via punts.  He can still return kick offs.

As for #58 - I'd re-sign him if he doesn't want to be the #1 linebacker in the league - but he should be paid.  The tag looks like a possibility.  Would the Bears be messing around if Urlacher's contract was due?  I'm not saying Smith is Urlacher but he's the best player on our defense and the Bears can't let him walk away.

Well The Bears canned a good GM after 85 because he was spending too much of the McCasket's money. Poles seems just the GM the McCaskets love. Seems he likes to squeeze that buffalo till it urinates. IMHO Poles lets

58 walk, NO TAG. Tags are too costly. Besides the Bears need every nickel for Arlington Park. I just know you are going to argue that

Bears in 2022 have the third highest amount of dead cap money - over $69M.  In 2023 the Bears will be #1 in cap space available at $106M - which is almost twice as much as the #2 team.

Guess we just wait and see, but I don't recall in the past the Bears being cheap in regarding to spending up to the salary cap.  Actually, Pace was better signing free agents than he was in the draft.

Well Bill talking up the Bears with word salad in order to look good (not that he has to care at this point in his career) after the shelacking he expects to put down on them on MNF. Not that he gives any **** whatever what the media feel about him.....

Our defensive line has to be about the worst in the NFL.  Our offensive line is almost as bad but at least they're young and there is hope for growth.
