The Bears have forgotten what wins football games.

The defense has to be outstanding, and no defense can be outstanding without a pass rush.  And in spite of the edge rushers getting all the press, it has to start with the defensive tackles.  Top DTs HAVE to be double teamed, and when they are, the interior is clogged up with bodies, and the edge rushers are free to roam.

Spending top choices on defensive backs is a sucker's play until the line is dominant.  Buddy Ryan had it right.  If you pressure the QB, it doesn't really matter if your DBs are great.  And if you don't pressure the QB, great DBs are not going to help much.

The strategy this off season should be simple.  Bring in the best defensive tackles you can get, either through free agency or the draft.  After that, bring in the best offensive linemen you can get, either through free agenty or the draft.  After that, you can look at wide receivers and defensive backs.

That was on full display after our defensive meltdown at Dallas.  I turned on the Bills Packers game for some solace and was rewarded watching the Bills defensive tackles wreck the Packers offensive line and put pressure on Rodgers.  None of our tackles have the "meat in the seat" that the Bills have.

Early in the season, Fields was sailing those throws over the middle, and I think that is why they went away from those balls.  That and the slippery finger drops by mostly middling receivers.

Yeah, but I'm talking the short ones.  A quick slant.  Or just have the tight end go over the middle for 5 or 6 yards.  Get the ball out of Fields hand quicker.  It seems like every pass Fields holds the ball waiting...waiting...   Maybe opposing defenses play a tight man to force tight windows and eliminate shorter throws.  But then they have to deal with Fields running.

That's all that matters. They can win a game and still "lose" (injury, bad precedent being set etc etc) or lose a game and "win" (basically what happened last week). The team they started with at the beginning was not going to be the same at the middle or end of the season. Its going to be a very bumpy ride for the foreseeable future.....

It’s a term White Sox fans use. It’s gibberish.

Chicago has been where "receivers go to die." Can they break that pattern ? Its kind of must see TV (like a possible train wreck) for Bear fans this week. Let's see what they got......

Well, the offense is coming along but the defense is atrocious.

It looks like they have been in a prevent defense the entire game.  The Dolphins have been moving the ball easily through the air to wide open receivers.

As much as we need better OL, we are desperate for D talent.  We havent touched/hit Tua, well except for the sketchy roughing penalty.  Otherwise his uniform wont even be needed to be washed.  And what is with Jaylon Johnson giving Tyrek Freakin Hill soooooo much room.  I mean seriously.  On a good note, the O seems to be clicking.  Cant wait to see what Claypool can do once he learns the plays.

Anyone still think Fields just doesn’t have “it”?
