The refs thought we were playing the Pukers yesterday.  Dont get me started on Flush's challenge.  Worst coach ever.  They should have left him in a seedy part of Detroit on the way to the airport yesterday.  Fire Flush, promote Thomas Brown to interim coach.  Then I was thinking Poles has A LOT of blame in this dumpster fire.  He hired Everlose, kept him around for this year, agreed/hired Waldron, the entire OL sinkhole is on him, a former OL.  Now he did get LUCKY in getting Caleb and DJ Moore, but Stevensons antics are flaring up, either because of his attitude or coaching, and that goes to Poles.  If George really said change is coming, I would be thrilled if we got a GM who is good and not occasionally lucky.  Just saying.

Two good things came out of yesterday.  My turkey got smoked perfectly during the game, and I dont have to watch any crappy Bears football this Sunday.  Oh and I am now rooting for losses, for better draft position.

So plain to see:

Everyone thinks Bears coach Matt Eberflus botched the opportunity to send Thursday’s game against the Lions to overtime.

Everyone, that is, except Bears coach Matt Eberflus.

In his post-game press conference, Eberflus defended the disastrous clock management that kept the Bears from trying a game-winning field goal.

“I like what we did there,” Eberflus said when asked how he should have handled the closing seconds of the game. “I think we handled it the right way.”

No, Matt. You didn’t. And everybody knows it.

It was one of the worst examples of clock management in NFL history. And that’s not an exaggeration.

The Bears have never fired a head coach during the season. The handling of the end of Thursday’s game is a fireable offense. Eberflus’s stubborn refusal to admit the mistake makes it even more necessary to get him out and put someone else in.

That sounds harsh, I know. But the highest level of pro football is unforgiving. If any coach handles any game in a way that makes him seem to be unfit for the job, there are plenty of other qualified candidates who should be given a chance to give it a try.

Eberflus was asked about his job security.

“This is the NFL,” Eberflus said. “I know where it is. And I’m just gonna put my best foot forward, and I’m gonna get to work and keep grinding. So that’s what we do.”

Does he expect to remain the head coach this week??

“Like I said, I’m just gonna keep grinding and working and that’s what I do.”

What he did today should be the thing to get Bears management to do what they’ve never done — fire a coach during the season.

Yup, me too. We are climbing up the 2025 draft ladder like fast and furiously. Ya gotta love that.

We have so many uses for Oline. Round one should be a priority.

Its the best case scenario of a shitty situation.

1. Caleb proves he can be the man (AGAIN).

2. Eberflus proves he's not the man (yet again).

3. And it all happened before a major audience- not hidden in a slate of games at the same time. Too many eyeballs on this one to make it go away quietly.

And WTF were the Lions doing going away from the run early on ? That's all they needed to do to put this game away. And when they decided to go back to it late they looked like they hadn't done it all game (they were cold).

Turkey game indeed.

And if Flus is at the podium today I hope every question his way is of the "Why the hell are you still here ?" variety....

And Ben Johnson is most people's pick for the next HC?  No matter which team it is?

Sorry but I am taking Ben Johnson 10 times out of 10, over Everlose.  Look what he gets out of Goff, imagine what he could do with Caleb....

They do not need another failed rookie coach. What they need is a coach who has had success at the NFL level. Try getting a experienced quality coach for a change.

Today isnt April 1st is it?

Matt Eberflus is out and one coach has received another in-season promotion to replace him.

Thomas Brown will serve as the Bears’ interim head coach after Eberflus’ firing on Friday, according to multiple reports.

Brown, 38, joined the Bears in the offseason as passing game coordinator but was promoted to offensive coordinator after the club fired Shane Waldron from that position earlier this month.

Last season, Brown served as the Panthers’ offensive coordinator. While former head coach Frank Reich initially called plays, he passed that duty off to Brown before taking them back. Brown got them again once Reich was fired midseason.

A sixth-round pick in the 2008 draft, Brown played one season for the Falcons and two for the Browns before going into coaching at Georgia, where he’d played his college ball. Brown got back into the league in 2020 as Rams running backs coach, winning Super Bowl LVI with the club in 2021.
