He had 3 timeouts and should have seen Stevenson wasn't lined up doing his clown show.

Yeah Booker should have been in there and someone else faster, even Swift who could at least match his speed and quickness.  Edwards isn't going to stop Daniels in the open field.

Romo had it laid out on that prior play.  Cover the sidelines and have a few guys in the deeper middle.  If they don't throw to the sideline the clock runs out if a receiver is tackled even 49 yards downfield.

Why didn't one of the other team leaders on the field call a timeout ? I hope the only is that they were actually doing their jobs and were assuming Stephenson would be doing his- and not because Flus won't let players call TOs (come to think if it that would be so Flus-ian).....

Jaylon said that the defensive players do not call timeouts (16:00 mark).  Welcome to Flusistan.

McCursed Bears Flus-ing around. Figures.....

I would at least "allow" the team leaders to call TOs. But then again I am not a genius Flus thinks he is, so there is that. Hearing this really, Really, REALLY makes me wish they had launched Flus and Co before the season began. Can he change ? Time will tell (and Bears will suffer while we find out). Maybe a come to Jesus moment with the players and coach like they did with Shame Waldron. Although after this week it appears it didn't take.....

BTW I still despise the fact that the NFL many years ago changed the TOs so they could be called from the sidelines.

So many stupid errors this game....honestly, this should be Flus' last season and he can take Waldron with him. Hard enough to overcome the opponent without having to overcome your stupid coaching staff to boot....

The captains should be able to call a timeout.  I think in a crunch situation like that they just went into playing their roles.  Probably a lot of hindsight discussion on the players part.  This is a stinging and tough lesson.  And just like early in the season when Waldron was calling an option at the goal line, I can only hope this brings to focus the details it takes to win.

Flus has to know he screwed up.  The 13 yard gimmee was the most glaring in my opinion.  Poles comes across pretty no nonsense, I have to believe that was discussed in detail.  That allowed Washington to get in position to reach the endzone.

Unfortunately Waldron didn't learn his lesson and still decided to be cute at the goal line, again.  Even if it worked, there is no excuse to make that play call when trying to comeback on the road.  And even more so I blame Eberflus.  Mr. Awesome Culture and Honor the Ball failed to veto that ridiculous call.  The lack of self awareness and game management by this head coach is truly maddening.  He is on a stubborn CYA mode and only digging himself into a deeper hole.

It will go one of two ways- Flus/Waldron either will learn or we will see further egregious mistakes and they will be shown the door (eventually). Shame Waldron needs to be taught that he has not earned the right to call that type of play like he did on the goal-line. Times of trouble either temper folks or destroy them.....

all 22 on the pre-HM 13 yard gain

The DBs were defending against a 70 yard pass play.  And look at the dumbass at the 40 yelling at the DBs to play up when they were already 30 yards away with an open sideline forgetting he had 3 timeouts.  Caleb knew they done fuckedup.

When Ben Johnson is HC next year and we have some OL upgrades we will be better.  We just have to make sure we get a good DC with Ben.

It won't be any easier at the Cardinals this weekend. Another mediocre team on the road. Williams needs to come out strong from the first quarter til the end..
