If Harper remains healthy and comes even close to repeating 2015 (say a .310 BA, .420 OBP, 40 HR, and an OPS of 1.050), and he offers to sign with the Cubs for six years at $30M a year.... is there anyone who would not jump at it?  Is there anyone who thinks the Theocracy would not jump at it?

You think Harper is taking under 200 million? I would be shocked if he gets less than 300.

Could they even redo the TV contracts?  My guess is the owners would be the bigger problem with reducing the schedule.

Great pitcher's duel in Arizona tonight. Patrick Corbin has a no hitter through 7 innings; Cueto has a 2 hit shutout with 9 Ks through 6 innings.

Boston clobbering Ohtani. The Red Sox seem to have an offensive juggernaut every single year.

Cueto dominates another inning, 11 Ks through 7 innings.

Corbin has only thrown 73 pitches through 7 innings, so he could pitch into the 10th if he still has a no hitter going at that point.

Kenley Jansen is looking kind of cooked so far.

Atlanta Braves @Braves
The Atlanta #Braves today agreed to terms with free agent infielder José Bautista on a one-year minor-league contract for the 2018 season, and he has reported to Atlanta’s extended spring training complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. He will play third base.

Interesting move. Bautista played 8 games at third base last year (4 starts). He last played there semi-regularly in 2011 (25 games). It's probably unlikely to work, but the Braves' 3B situation is ugly this year (Ryan Flaherty and Johan Camargo).

In Fantasy, Flaherty is doing surprisingly well, but not real life?
