Maybe Theo should think about this option.

Matt Adams back to the Cardinals according to Passan. Weird deal--they already have Carpenter and Martinez who are really stretched playing anywhere but first base. I don't know why they need a third first baseman.

Dodgers down 3-1 to the Cardinals in the 4th. Dodgers get runners on second and third, no outs...then fail to score.

The Cardinals are going to win the NL Central. The Cubs didn't put them away when they had the chance coming out of the break, and now the Cardinals are going to be within 2.5 games when they win tonight.

The Cubs are in first place and have lots of games left against their rivals.  That's just the way I like it.

Someone please make sure this post is saved for posterity.

Pretty good start for Kopech tonight. He has a chance to be pretty special.

Strike out 2 per IP and pitch counts will be an issue.

Mauer fouled off a bunch of 97's and 98's and he got Bucknor'd twice by my count. His slider is something.

Robert Murray @ByRobertMurray
#Reds’ Matt Harvey claimed on revocable waivers by unknown team, sources tell me and @ctrent.

Seems likely that the Cubs claimed him if they got the chance. I'd assume at least the Cardinals or Brewers claimed him first, though.

The Cubs aren’t ready to announce Friday’s starter to take Mike Montgomery’s next turn in the rotation, but Maddon said they won’t (intentionally) cover it with a bullpen day.

That rules out Chatwood then?
