https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/heyman-will-kikuchi-be-next-great-japanese-import/

You've heard me talk about this guy before.  He's not Ohtani, but has a chance to be a genuine TORP in the majors.  Lot of mileage on the arm (including Koushien abuse) but legit stopper stuff.  Not sure the Cubs have a vacancy for him next season but Kikuchi is the kind of talent you make a vacancy for.

Maybe the Cubs can give Lester some of the rash inducing stuff that the Blackhawks gave Hossa.

6 games ppd today. Including a double header for Detroit. Detroit has 6 ppd already this year... And they have played one doubleheader...

Wow.  It's been a late, long winter here in the midwest, that's for sure.  Scheduling games on 3-days of March maybe didn't help, either.

Colon throwing a perfect game against Houston would be the best thing in baseball this year.

And by the way, Verlander just allowed his third baserunner of the night himself by hitting former Cub farmhand Robinson Chirinos with a pitch. Chirinos also hit a homer for the only run earlier, which is the only hit allowed so far.

And the HR was a pop up...just inside the foul pole and in the first couple of rows of the Crawford boxes.

Vogelbach is one stout fellow.

That looked like one of those Babe Ruth swings.

Maybe he should get on the Schwarber diet next offseason.

Verlander's first four starts:

26-2/3 IP, 15 H, 5 BB, 34 K, 4 ER

Verlander is good. Especially for someone who is 35 years old.
