I think blaming his injury on the sunscreen is a stretch.

But I do think his criticism is fair when he says MLB should've made this change in the offseason, not the middle of a season. MLB has ignored substance use for years so it seems a little unfair to suddenly change that mid-season. It's not like these substances are a new innovation this year--MLB could've easily made new rules in December.

I appreciated the comments by some players who have suggested that with as hard as guys throw now. Going without sticker could makes the game too dangerous.

Nationals placed INF Starlin Castro on the restricted list.

Castro was not in the Nationals' lineup on Tuesday and is apparently going to be away from the team for a little while. There's no further information at this time. The 31-year-old infielder has struggled to a .239/.287/.312 batting line with two home runs and 51 strikeouts in 63 games (254 plate appearances) this season.

If Castro becomes available for the league minimum, he'd have to be better than Sogard, right?

Trout best ever. Ohtani most remarkable ever.

Bob Nightengale
@BNightengale

The race is on for history:

The Arizona #Dbacks have lost 21 consecutive road games.

The Baltimore #Orioles have lost 17 consecutive road games.

Both teams play on the road tonight and Thursday.

The all-time record is 22 by the 1963 NY #Mets and 1943 Philadelphia Athletics.

I am surprised you remember anything at your advanced age.

Prevagen.  Does anybody really fall for stuff like that?  Like the erectile dysfunction commercials.  Bleacher Bums know that the answer to erectile dysfunction is a COVID vaccine.

Walker Buehler has a no hitter through 7 innings. He has also thrown 99 pitches, so he's probably not going to get to finish it.
