Part of the money damages that Zobrist is seeking is the portion of his Cubs contract that he forfeited when he left the club to address his “family issues.” This is the saved money that Cubs used to sign Kimbrel.

Apparently, if the lawsuit is successful, the remedy will include requiring Kimbrel to hunt and fish with Zobrist during the off-season.
