I'm amazed that JR doesn't have 3 or 4 guys on the DL already.

So it looks like the Price is not right........

Red Sox's David Price: Could miss all of April
March 21, 2017 8:29 AM EDT | by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
Price (elbow) may be out until May at the earliest, Evan Drellich of Comcast Sportsnet New England reports.

It appears he's DL bound so if approval is granted to send him to ours also, Oz Busters DL David
Price and pick up Mike Foltynewicz to replace.

I could have sworn somebody picked up Foltynewicz but I can't find it.  I'm going to hesitate to make this move to give someone a chance to holler out.

That was from five years ago.  Get it right, Curt.

Mr. Onions, i'd suggest appealing to the circle to have a heart to to heart with the Mariners gm.  I've done so in the past and the request proved fruitful.  They are excellent with those persuasive heart to heart talks with uncooperative gm's and managers.  Im sure yall remember when terry francona had to take off for "personal reasons".  There was also Jim Leyland's "retirement".  Ron Washington's time off was actually spent in hiding rather than rehab.  There was no failed test.

Sounds like Urias will start the year in extended ST. Does that mean I can name a replacement for him?

 From da rules:
Exception:  If a starting pitcher selected in our free agent draft is sent to the minors for the express and verifiable purpose of waiting until the major league club needs a 5th starter, the owner can petition the Circle that he be allowed to keep said starting pitcher. The owner is not allowed to select a temporary replacement player but keeps the starter in question on his active roster and earns no points for that roster spot until the starter is recalled.  If the pitcher is not recalled within 4 full weeks of his team’s first game, or if the major league club uses a different 5th starter in the original player's place, the owner is forced to waive the pitcher (thus burning a waiver and losing his waiver slot) and select a replacement player from the free agent pool. The pitcher just waived is subject to the regular 48-hr claim rules once recalled.
------------------------------------
Does Urias still retain minor league status?  If so, you could demote him and drop some minor leaguer.

Re: Urias.  Tico is going to have to wait to see how exactly LA assigns him.  Extended spring training may mean a DL stint or it may mean, as Curt said, actually being optioned to the minors.  Or they could call him the 5th starter.  It's still too unclear at the moment.troto

82 has the same issue with Berrios.

Moves can't be made until the club makes them in their cases.

One of the Twins other starters might have a little 'accident' and make that 'issue' moot. ;)

Urias was not a free agent draftee but a keeper, so he's not subject to the 4 week rule, I do not believe. He's also eclipsed minor league service time, officially.

If the Dodgers simply put him in the minors, that makes this question simple enough. I can then simply do the same.

That said, I believe the Dodgers intend to put him in extended ST, as they are specifically trying to limit his innings. I understand, per 82, that we need to wait and see what happens, but ext st is much more DL-like than anything else.
