I don't see that solving anything.  If an owner wants to get something for a player he foresees not being able to keep, he should be allowed to do so.  That's all I've been doing.  I identified the guys that aren't sure things as keepers and offered them for a reasonable price.  A fourth rounder demand would have gotten few responses.

The thing is, though, when a player clears waivers for MLB after the trade deadline, you're able to trade him freely for whatever you want.

If your scraps clear waivers if the waiver price was fixed as a 4th rounder, for instance, then you can trade that player to whomever you want for something that's more reasonable after that player clears.  It also makes it a little easier to do player for player swaps when other players clear waivers.

It's just a thought anyway.  Fixing the waiver price might have a few more pitfalls than I'm giving it credit for at the moment, though.

The Brats place Alex Wood on the DL and sign Chad Kuhl to replace.

I may not remember all the discussion about doing waivers after the trade deadline, but I remember that we discussed that if we put guys on waivers and then if no one claimed that we could trade them, like MLB does, wouldn't work for us.  We use draft positions, MLB uses $$$$.  If we did what you suggest, JR, everyone would put guys on waivers for a #1 and then when nobody claimed, trade them...a clear attempt to circumvent our trading rules.  I thought at the time we had worked out a very workable solution.  Obviously Dave disagrees.  I've improved my draft pretty decently.  It's not my fault that some people ask for unrealistic returns.  JMO

I'm sure there's been plenty of years with 2, but I can't help but wonder if there has been 3 teams within 50 points of each other heading into august before.....a crazy year.

Barnes on the DL.  I'll just drop him.  I have to drop Granderson.  He doesn't fit on my roster...thought he did.  Pick up Mercer and Tony Watson.

Granderson is NOT on waivers.  Anyone can take him.  I took him last night illegally.

What a rule breaker.  Sounds like it's time to impeach CurtOne.
