Yes.

There was issue with Matt’s drafting.  He had moved Max Meyer to the IL and he drafted 1 to many pitchers and was short a hitter.  He dropped Mikolas to correct this and picked up Mondesi to make his team legal.

Prior to the replacement draft, the Brats send Vaughn Grissom (keeper list) to the minors and release Adael Amador.

Just to add, I think something should be done for minor leaguers who have to be cut before May 1 because it kind of is a waste for the league for me to release someone like Amador and have him unavailable for everybody until next year's minor league draft.  The Dojo wanted to draft him for instance, and it'd be nice to have some way to get him to a team like that instead of just letting him go to waste.  Either have a special minor league waivers for players like that or make them available for like a 10th or 11th round draft pick.

By the way, I can't cut Amador on Fantrax while the draft is still in progress, so I guess that's a move a commissioner would have to make.

Problem is the more players we lock up, the worse waivers and drafts become.

There has to be a better way to do this replacement draft in the future.

By my count, there are roughly 50 players that need to be replaced. The teams picking 15th and 16th will be lucky to get a bat boy at that point.

Is there a way on the site to do a 2nd supplemental draft for this?

Also, what is the decision re: Profar?

It’s looking more and more like he won’t be around for Opening Day. Does he sit on Curt’s roster, getting zero points each day until he gets here?

What if he is assigned to the minors when he gets here? Does Curt lose him?

We could do it as a rolling draft instead, but at the rate picks are made it would take a week to get through 50 players.

I don’t know that I love just opening it to make replacements either.  It would just become a rush to make replacemts once the draft is done.

Rules for this
Just having a red flag on a player isn't enough to replace them. They need to be on the IL or heading to the IL.  If somebody is day to day that isn't enough to replace them.  If they aren't listed on the IL you need to post info that they are heading to the IL.

Players sent to minors may also be replaced.  So JR gets to keep Grissom because he was a keeper.  I lose DL Hall because he was a draft pick.

Profar: If not on Opening Day roster, I lose him.  He doesn't have to play, but he has to be on the roster.

Draft: So the top 2 teams in the league won't have much to replace their guys?  Tough toenails.  My attitude has always been and will always be that if we really give a damn about helping bottom teams arguing about unfairness should understand that for bottom teams those players they get may actually be better than some they have.  For the good teams, whoever they draft will end up being dropped once their players come off the DL.  It may appear unfair, but in reality its avoids bullying.

Yeah, there are a few out there with red flags who will be playing opening day…

I’ve found 5 so far who were drafted and have since been sent down…one was moved to a minors spot, which is illegal…

Oh, and re: Curt’s comment on the draft above…that’s the way I felt about the minor league draft, too…but it still got changed to help the better teams anyway…
