I believe we have always granted exemptions for players who receive QO’s…if they accept it.

Does this go for guys who sign extensions with their old teams during the QO period too? Or is the exemption just for guys who accept the QO?

Only the QO recipients…guys who sign extensions with their old team were still free to sign with anyone.

Just bad luck for that owner…

Just for clarity because I want to edit the rule
1) When players can sign with any team, they get added back into the player pool.
2) QO players can be kept if the accept the QO, but if they sign an extension after the free agency date, but before the QO they are back in the pool.

Per an article on The Athletic...

11/10 - The quiet period ends Thursday at 5pm. Free agents can now sign with any club. This is also the final day clubs can extend a QO to eligible players, and the last day clubs or players can exercise a contract option for 2023.

11/18 - this date is the deadline for teams to decide to which players they will or will not tender contracts. Non-tendered players become free agents.

We need to have a vote on the playoff systems.  My work has been a wee bit crazy, so I haven't gotten around to looking at the different proposals.

The minor league limits I'm less likely to want to change.  The talent in the league is pretty much already locked up and that is one of the few ways we have to try cause less of that.  Welcome to the fun of moving from rebuilding to trying win, it is the hardest part of the league.

I would like to vote on the minor league limits given the changes in baseball relative to service time. While I think 100 ABs is a good number, it could even be 75 ABs and still have an impact.

While this rule probably means the most to my specific team this year, it will impact teams moving forward.

If owners vote it down so be it but I think it is fair to put it up for a vote. Are owners open to modifying rookie minimums?  If the votes are there we can go to the next step of determining good numbers. If the votes aren’t there I will deal with it.

I’ll try and get some vote stuff up and going around Thanksgiving.

We are also going to need at least 1 new owner.

I'm a little slow so for purpose of clarification are all players who aren't under contract back in the pool now?  Or do those who were extended QO's still technically remain on rosters?

Using Dansby Swanson as an example, he was given a QO.  If he signs an extension with the Braves within the time period to accept QO's (10 days) does he remain on my team?  Or does he only remain on my team if he signs the QO?

My understanding is that a player can talk to other teams but not sign with another team until after he rejects the QO.

Voting

Here is what I would like to vote on. First I would like to vote on just some general ideas like if you should have a playoff, increasing minor league AB, IP limits.  If the league goes forward I would like to set up a commission of newer and older owners to come up ideas that would be acceptable for both groups. I would also like to vote on getting rid of the requirement for # of games played at the all star break. We will go with what Fantrax Lusitania people being eligible for at the start of the year and if new positions can be added. If the games played threshold is reached, but not taken away. Fantrax currently is set to recognize the GP threshold for the league. This will only apply position players. Pitchers are their own headache.

So
1) Should we add a playoff?
2) Should minor league eligiblity be increased?
3) Removing the All-Star break requirement?
