I guess the one thing I'm not liking right now is that you have to click on "Reply" to make a post to any of the topics.  It'd be nice if there was just a quick reply box at the bottom.

I'm not sure that I like being kicked all the way back to the main page after making a post.

OK, so there is a Quick Reply box at the bottom.  You just have to expand it.  And Strike's right, it does take you back to the main page if you post using Quick Reply.

If you use the regular Reply button, though, it doesn't do that.

Yeah, I don't like that Quick Reply function either.

Hopefully there's a setting to allow the Reply box to remain open.

Okay.....just used the reply button and it does the same thing.  Takes me back out to the threads list.

I guess one other problem is that you have to scroll to the bottom to see new posts.

That's pretty much the same problem with all the other sites we're considering.

If you click the "New" icon it takes you directly to the new posts in each topic without scrolling, or at least it does that for me.

Yep, that'll work.

Dunno why I'm booted out to the threads list after a reply and you guys aren't, though.

Just reposting what Cactus suggested in Today's Game to make this place more like Worldcrossing.  This was a big help for me.

go to profile at the top of the page

click modify profile, then look & layout

check the box next to 'return to topics after posting by default'

change 'use quick reply on topic display' to 'show - on by default'

One other thing you can do at "Look and Layout" under your profile is set the number of messages you can see per page.  One of the things I haven't liked about the other BBF alternatives is that it'll show 20-25 messages per page when a new post hasn't been made, and you have to scroll through all of them to see the most recent message.

Over here, you can set it to where you can only see 5 or 10 messages per page, which works a lot more like Worldcrossing did.  You don't have to scroll through nearly as much to get to the most recent messages if you don't want to do that.
