The only way I know to stop that would be for me to move the BBFL topic from the BBF board to another board, and that inconveniences 16 people.

Yeah, Dave.  Get on that Ignore Topic feature.  While you're at it, get us the topic-based Ignore feature for individual posters so we can read Today's Game without wanting to choke certain posters whose posts in other topics are less exasperating. . . .
If only that was an option...there are a few who make TG almost intolerable.

Last question/comment on the subject

If BBFL was marked as a "sticky" topic, would that move it to either the top of the bottom of the topic list?  Either way it would still be highly visible but not in the midst of the other topics.  A test could easily be reversed, right?

The easiest solution would be for you, Bennett, to join the fantasy league!

Maybe this is wishful thinking, but

Now that there are two fantasy baseball leagues, we need the ability to put topics on "ignore" status as well as other posters.

Bennett, I think the new fantasy league talk will go away once the league is fully established. There is just talk of it on here now because it's easier to figure out rules and scoring that way. I think fantasy talk will still be limited to one topic on this board after the new league drafts in a couple weeks.

Not ideal IMO, but BBFL topic is now sticky...let me know how that works...

Works for me.  Now dump all those other annoying topics.

Does what I was hoping for.  I'll go along with whatever the majority decides.

It's a sticky at the top and highlighted.  I do not use the next button like Bennett so I would like for it to be unstuck so it is not highlighted and at the top of my screen all the time when I enter the Bleacher Bums Forum by using the navigation links at the bottom of the posts.  Sometimes I go directly from the topic back to General Categories then to the Bears Topic and back to General and to the Bleacher Bums Forum and there it is again at the top.  This is very annoying to me and I would like to have it put back to the way it has been for the last 25-30 years since we created this board.

This is just so dicombobulating.  Now I have a topic at the top that is always there even when there are no new posts in it.

My OCD hates it.

I'll keep it like this thru our draft, when the topic is constantly being updated. After that, though, no promises...

I know of a few posters who agree with me but none of them are having much to say.  Unless that changes, you might as well end the experiment now.

All our topics are dying. I remember Today's game used to have 200+ posts per game including the annoying people. Now there are games with no posts whatsoever. This place needs some new blood, but along with new blood will come those who are obnoxious but that is just part of the equation. I'm sure I'm in the obnoxious category for some (maybe most), especially in the Today's game topic. I've been on some iteration of this board for more than 20 years now, it makes me sad to see it dying.

Actually, that would help your cause quite a bit. I don’t pretend to know how everyone goes about reading the posts on the board, but I have never used that “next” button/link. I always click the “new” button next to each topic name on the main page.

As board admin, I have always felt a sort of obligation to read every post on both boards...Cubs and Bears. I have read every single one of them. I would love to have the luxury of totally ignoring the Politics/Religion topics on both boards,  but I can’t do it.
