Cubs and Brewers tied for first entering Monday night’s Cubs game, but Brewers have WAY softer June schedule. So, still a tie would be nice before Cubs and Brewers play a series at the end of June.

Brewers play Rockies (7 games), DBacks (3), Pirates (3), Reds (6).
Cubs play Padres (3), Dodgers (4), Mets (4), Cards (3), Indians (2), Marlins (3).

Imagine having been asked last winter: "Suppose it's June 9, and the starting lineup will include Higgins, Wisdom, Ortega, and Alcantara, with Ian Happ starting at 2B.  Will the Cubs be in first place or tanking?"

And beating Yu Darvish?

As deeg noted last week, this unlikely group might fall off the cliff at any time and take a dive.  But the very unlikely, underdog success makes it almost more fun while success is still happening.  This has really been a fun run.

Rizzo is one of the Cubs who "chose not to be vaccinated".  That's pretty disappointing.

Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Willson is a really good start to the lineup and the bullpen isn't performing with smoke and mirrors.  If they still had Yu this team would be elilte.

I thought Rizzo was one of the first guys to come out and say he was going to get it in Spring Training.

Lobaton has #7, last worn by Victor Caratini.

Rizzo's decision surprises me considering he is a cancer survivor.
