In case you want the back story on the most effective pitcher in yesterday's I-Cub win ...

Nice piece on Borucki. Thanks.

Three-batter rule really hurts a guy like this. Dramatic lefty/righty splits. Seems like he might need something new to use against righties to stay in big leagues.

Who was the pitcher who could pitch with either hand?  Is he still around?

Think that was Donald Trump. Still around.

Myrtle roster.  Horton, Ramirez, Ballesteros, Hernandez.  No Ferris, as expected.  No Birdsell, hopefully South Bend rather than injured.

Looks like he's opening at South Bend.  He is actually older than all but 4 of the 17 Myrtle Beach pitchers.

Thanks, Dallen.  Bummed that Howard is still too injured to play.

Craig, did you see that Ben Leeper had another TJ surgery and is out for the season?

I didn't get the details, but I'd seen that he wasn't on a roster and that it was supposed to be serious.  Too bad for the guy.

Overall, though, am I wrong to kinda be feeling they've gotten kinda lucky with injuries?  I think there's a lot of springs when quite a few pitchers show up after an offseason and aren't right.  I'm kinda feeling like Devers, Leeper, Triantos, a delayed start for Howard, and Canario having the known/expected delay, that really isn't too bad?

At least, I hope that's all.  Not to be paranoid, but I thought they'd maybe bring up Wick for some big-league X game.  I'm not sure I've seen any video clips of him, or Az Phil Wick reports, either?  Hope he's just fine.

WickS is on the roster, no injury listed.  That is such an interesting roster.

One of the interesting placements, I think, is that Porter Hodge got moved up to Tennessee.  I'd thought he might start back at South Bend for a little while.  Maybe the Devers injury enabled that.

But Palencia, Brown, Hodge, Wicks, Jensen, and Walker Powell too, that's a pretty interesting collection of possibilities.

Better visual of South Bend roster, but it's incomplete.   Doesn't show Birdsell or Noland, or Guzman, or Gallardo.  And only shows two outfielders.

Bad news, is it shows Yovanny Cruz on the 60-day DL.  Too bad, I'd kinda had an outside hope that he might emerge this year like Estrada did last year.

Interestingly, this link lists HOward as active.

Earlier I'd thought maybe they'd gotten lucky with injuries.  I forgot some guys, so may have been wrong.

1.  Herz is not on the Tennessee roster.  Apparently he was seen doing some throwing recently, though?  I presume some level of injury was involved, although I imagine that working on stuff might also be a thing?

2.  Leigh also not on the roster.

3.  Apparently Franklin isn't stretched out, for whatever unknown reasons.

MLB pipeline now has Horton in their top 100, as one ahead of him has been promoted to the MLB.
