Chris and Craig, thanks much for the info about Triantos and Wilson Cunningham, respectively.
Triantos' swing does look rather compact and he's hit very well for his short season, particularly of late when one could imagine a teenager tiring. Triantos was a PLUS pitcher, so he clearly has the arm, and his baseball instincts and work ethic are said to be off the charts.
As for Wilson Cunningham, what a GREAT story! My Mom went to University of Chicago and had a great experience there, so I was on campus numerous times as a youngster - NO sign of baseball (or other sports), so it's great he will be be working out with the Cubs in Chi and Az! It also will be interesting to see what a 6'8 LH Applied Math major might do with the data the Cubs can now provide! His journey will be interesting to follow whether he makes it to the BIG show or not.
I wonder if Cubs were inspired to take a run at Cunningham based on the success of another very smart dude (a Dartmouth guy), who doesn't throw hard, relatively, but has had tremendous MLB success by tunneling his pitches and excelling at variables other than a big fastball. (Hendricks)
