On the subject of 3B---discussed on another thread about 2023 with Madrigal and other suspects...

Not a great prospects position for Cubs either.

Top 3B prospect in system is probably Chase Strumpf??----who was exposed to the Rule 5 and unclaimed.

Then there's Triantos and seems like the projection is "can't play 3B" and if can stay on the infield, it's 2B.......maybe.

Maybe Cristian Hernandez will move to 3B, which isn't the best outcome and he's probably a long way away.

Preciado has such a miserable time trying to hit last season, he hardly gets a mention anymore.

Paciolla just drafted, who knows.  Who else?  Not great.

Meanwhile, Cubs could have drafted Brooks Lee---who will start season already at AA and is getting a ton of PAs this spring which kind of indicates Twins think he's pretty close to majors.  Correa will move him to 3B of course.  Or, Correa moves to 3B.  Either way.

Maybe the Horton/Ferris draft will prove to be a stroke of genius.  Fingers crossed.  But, passed up a guy who figures to have a very good chance to be a very solid 3B---and soon.  Hoping that does not look like a very bad decision in a few years.

Then, of course, there's drafting Ed Howard instead of Jordan Walker.  I don't know, maybe Walker is too big to stay at 3B but moving Walker off 3B because Arenado is there is an obvious move, whether Walker can stay at 3B or not.  Maybe we'll get something out of Howard just yet.  But.....

And, then there's Kris Bryant being wasted in LF for Rockies instead of playing 3B for Cubs for a dozen seasons.  Oh well.

We have Madrigal to play 3B.  Answering questions in a dozen spring training games.
