Earlier this year I read that he has a low 90s FB, curve, and change-up; pretty generic righty - who has a chance because of good command

Fangraphs' Cubs list is up:

https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-22-prospects-chicago-cubs/

Not a lot of high grades, but as you read through the write-ups, it seems like there's the potential for a lot of these 45's and 40's to really blossom into something more. Jives well with the assessments of Cubs' brass that there is a breadth of young talent at the lower levels

Just a reminder on the 20-80 scale with regards to pitchers.
#1- 5-7 WAR/Season
#2- 4-5 WAR/Season
#3- 2.5-4 WAR/Season
#4- 2-2.5 WAR/Season
#5- 1.5 WAR/Season.

44 SP had >2 WAR last year
6 SP had 1.5-2 WAR last year

Thanks for the link, Playtwo.  Seems like a really good young man.  Hope things work out for him (and the Cubs).

Thanks for the Lange article, P2.  Everything we've heard about him sure suggests he has the right make-up!

Let's hope he can stay healthy!

In the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft, the Cubs lost Alberto Mineo, Andrew Ely, and Chris Nunn.

FWIW, my notes on the three former Cubs

C/1B Alberto Mineo 5'11" 165 Lbs. L/R (199307) (2010-Italy, $225K) In 2014, 0.243/0.365/0.703 in 162 PA (36/26 K/W).
Began 2015 in NWL  In 2016 0.237/0.296/0.321 in 41 G of which 40 were in MWL; threw out 4 of 19 base stealers
In 2017, he threw out 26 of 73 base stealers (36%) while hitting a respectable 0.278/0.374/0.358 in 396 MWL PA; however, he is a bit old for low-A.

LHSwing Chris Nunn 6’5” 200 Lbs. (199010) [2012 HS, San Diego] Hard throwing LHRP who struggled with control and frequently got lit up before being released.
Signed by Cubs in late August 2017 after he touched 97-98 pitching in his first start for the independent Evansville Otters.
Opened 2017 with Cubs as AA starter.  Got lit up in his first start but pitched 6 innings of shutout ball in his last start.  Overall, 14/10 K/W in 17 AA IP with 0.206 BAA.

SS/2B/3B Andrew Ely 5’10” 180 Lbs. L/R (199301) [2014-32, U Wash] In 2014, 0.326/0.363/0.535 in 89 AZL PA against much younger pitchers followed by 0.229/0.317/0.343 in 40 AAA PA as emergency fill-in.
In 2016 hit 0.262/0.333/0.333 in 104 G split between low-A (0.766 OPS) and high-A (0.601 OPS).
In 2017 posted 0.259/0.356/0.355 line in 324 SL PA with 1 SB in 5 attempts.
