Jordan has two or more strike outs in 10 of 18 games this year; he has three or more strikes outs in 6 of 18 games. On the positive side he only has one golden sombrero.
Stateside ... the Cubs had 3 short-season teams in 2019 but will have only one this year. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. I could see a scenario where only two or three 2021 draftees play this summer (i.e.., only college senior signs) with the rest being off-roster preparing for September instructionals. Will the complex level team be composed of the San Diego quartet (well hopefully triplet as Santana could return to Myrtle Beach especially if the full-season Howard experiment fails), Apostel, R. Morel, E. Howard, and a few others or could Nwogu end up there too.
I'm not sure why the Cubs decided to only have 1 team. My hunch is that they were concerned about having enough pitchers given roster limits (180), inning limits resulting from a mostly lost 2020, and injuries but cost and a desire to focus more on the hitting and pitching labs may have played a role. Is there a benefit of doing much of the development behind closed doors?
