PCA just homered to right center to give South Bend a 4-2 lead in the 9th, his 3rd hit (and a SB) in this big game!!

Canario must be incredibly strong.

That kid has the aura of someone special around him.

PCA with a HR for SB too, plus 3 hits and a SB.

Devers finishes his season with his worst South Bend start.  Allowing 2 runs, that was his first South Bend outing allowing more than 1 run.  Had 5 shutout and 7 one-run outings before the 2-run explosion.

Never Nervous clearly didn’t care for Canario catching him for the org HR lead. But Canario did go 2-3 with 2 BBs.  He’s following his usual pattern of struggling after a promotion and then going nuclear after the switch is flipped.

Hats off to South Bend, winning the last two games to take the Midwest League Championship!

Some future big leaguers on that club!

Sad to see seasons ended for first Myrtle and now South Bend.  It's been a fun summer for tracking minor league performances.  Not many left, now, with perhaps just one more Tennessee game.

Iowa has another week of games. Last scheduled game is 9/28.

Cool that higher level leagues playing so long, compared to years past. Can thank the limited rosters of September that still require replacements for guys getting hurt or absent.
