Could be either of them.  Or it could be Mervis.

It should be an interesting spring training.  I don't remember the last time, if ever, that Iowa had three offensive prospects that had a legitimate chance to make the big league squad as starters, out of spring training.  Of course, for all of them to be starters, they will have to have room in the outfield, either through trade or injury.

Is there time for Suzuki's wife to have another baby at the start of next season?

Mervis hit his 35th home run of the year yesterday.  Evidently, this annoyed Canario.  He hit his 35th tonight.

I presume he's going to get pounded with fastballs in - and up - at the big league level.

As with Baez, you better get them far enough up and in because he can murder fastballs in the zone.

Tennessee lives for another day.  Roederer with two hits and threw out a runner at home.  Brown started well, but gave up a HR in the 3rd and another run in the 4th before my guy Bailey Horn bailed him out of trouble.  Horn 2.1 hitless innings with 5 K's, although he also walked a couple.  What a K-binge he's been on lately.  20K in his last 10.2 innings.

Zac Leigh has 23K/11.2IP for Tennessee, saved it.

I'll be curious to see how things progress for some of these wild K-oriented relievers.  Always too wild to make it?  Or might a couple of them get a little more consistency, or perhaps nibble a little less, in future?

Nazier Mule was the DH in the instructional league today.  Do you suppose that they actually plan to use him as a two way player?

I would love to see it, at least until they see on which side he performs the best.

Baseball America says the Cubs have been mentioned with two of the top 15 International free agent prospects for the January 2023 signing period. The article requires a subscription to view-- if anyone has a subscription and can fill me in on who these two players are, I would appreciate it ? I believe the name of a young Shortstop was mentioned recently but I am not sure who the 2nd prospect is ?

Derniche Valdez (from the DR) is the SS.  I haven't specifically heard any of the other top names attached to the Cubs.

The second guy is #20 overall Ludwing Espinoza, SS from Venezuela.

Switch-hitter and brother of Cubs DSL prospect Leonel Espinoza (IL all of 2022).
