The hiring of coordinators is on him, though, and he's had lousy offensive coordinators since he's taken over. It seems like he wants to be the one in charge of offense, so he doesn't want someone with too strong of a resume in that spot. Basically the offense that's scored one TD in the last three games is one he deserves to have.
Bob Shoop was great at Vanderbilt. Not sure why James Franklin had enough of him at Penn St., but Tennessee's defense hasn't been that much to write home about this season and should have defended that Florida hail mary a lot better. Then again, when your offense doesn't do much and doesn't stay on the field, that puts a lot of pressure on the defense.
Butch will be fine once he gets back to the MAC or the AAC, or maybe he can get back with Brian Kelly and start riding his coattails again.
