That seems like a best case scenario to me, Di.  Seventh or eighth in the East seems more likely.

I definitely think they can do better than 8th, but it’s a tough call.  Depends on how well these new pieces fit with the old ones, and how big a jump Ball can make.  DeRozan and Zach are both ball-dominant, and that’s going to be challenging for Ball and Vooch.  OTOH if Ball levels up and the pieces click, you have basically four A-S caliber players on the floor to close games.

The USA leads Europe 6-2 after the first day of the Ryder Cup.  Playing under pressure like that can't be easy, even for the best players in the world.

Even if you are not much of a golf fan, try to watch some of the action on Saturday and Sunday.

Just got back to my hotel from Whistling Straights. That course is a beast. US dominated today.  Watching Bryson hit a 417 yard drive to a sliver of a fairway was something I'll never forget.

If you have a chance to play yourself, try Black Wolf Run, Herb Kohler's other course.  I think Birdbath has played it.

I've played Black Wolf and Whistling Straights. Great courses, but they wore me out.

There are four courses at Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits.  I’ve played them all. Many years ago right after college, I played a tournament at the Straits course and won it three years in a row so I kept getting invited back so I know that place pretty well.

I've won a few at Pebble Beach myself.

I played Spyglass once.  I don't recommend it (if you play golf like me).

I played Pasatiempo many years ago.  When I asked my wife what the course name meant, she replied: "Waste of Time".

I played Spyglass last week. It’s a pretty cool spot.

Hey, I used to be good at tournament golf. What can I say? Maybe I’ll be good again one day.

I played both courses at Torrey Pines a number of times, but I much preferred the North Course (used for 1 round in regular PGA tour event) over the South (the other 3, and on the US Open rota).  A setup that brutal was just utterly draining, mentally and physically.  Too long, too narrow, too much slope, too many trees where errant shots tend to go.  It's not a course for golfers at my level, great as it is.

And when they grow the rough at a course like Torrey South or Spyglass, it's beyond brutal!

Then, add the cross-winds as they've had at Whistling Straits and it's beyond brutal!

At the top of any of the sports we enjoy discussing, the players are ridiculously GREAT!
