Derrick Rose returned last night and looked really good. Bulls also got Noah back, but Butler sat out with a knee bruise. It's impossible to get that whole team healthy.

Knee bruise should not be a serious problem.

That's okay because now Noah's out at least a week with a groin injury.

Now Hinrich has a concussion and Butler missed another game with his knee injury.

The real issue with the Bulls isn't Butler and Hinrich being dinged.  Butler will be back, and Teague will outperform Hinrich if he gets on the floor.  But losing Asik a year ago has left the Bulls far weaker inside, with no depth.  I think Asik is a better player than Noah to begin with but either way, Noah has proved pretty conclusively that he can't stay on the floor, and Nazr Mohammed strikes fear into no one as a backup.

I don't think Asik is better than Noah...he's a good player, but not better than Noah

No way is Asik a better player than Noah, all apsects of the game considered.  He is more durable though.

Look at the numbers when Asik finally got a chance to play starters minutes.  And Asik does so many things that don't even show up in the numbers...  I'd take him over Noah because when it comes to the type of basketball you need to play to win in the postseason, he's a game-changer.

Have a chance to take my kid to the Bulls' final preseason game on Friday. But, my fear is that most regulars will get rested (either very limited minutes, or won't even suit up). Anyone have a better sense of what might happen?

Basically I want to take him to see Rose, but suspect #1 will be in a suit on the end of the bench cheering on Teague.

Clearly you don't know Thibbs very well, if you think that.

ya gotta play during the regular season before you get to the playoffs....noah will get you to the playoffs, asik is not close to that kind of player. he is useful and a good player, but not as good as Noah
