This game ably proves the already-proved point that preseason means jack.  However, to write off the Bulls' chances based on one game to start the season is ludicrous beyond belief.

You can be sure the Bulls will not be humiliated like this next time these two teams meet.  Chris pretty well summed it up.

Mind you, if Miami is healthy the Bulls still aren't close to beating them in a 7-game series.

I disagree Deeg.  If Miami and the Bulls are healthy come playoff time I give the Bulls a 40/60 chance of upsetting the Heat.  I didn't see anything last night to make me believe otherwise.  I will say this, if Shane Battier is going to shoot 100% from three this season and the Heat in general are going to shoot 55% from three as a team as they did last night then just skip the season now.  Something tells me they will revert to the norm though which last year was .just under 40%.

Well Boozer had a big game offensively, and Butler was great. Deng and Rose stunk it up. Noah isn't ready yet physically.
Too bad we didn't have Asik instead of Noah

Just don't see it, Robb.  The Bulls are basically the same team that lost to the Heat 2 years ago, less Asik and plus Dunleavey.  They have no second scoring option and they aren't athletic enough.  If you can stop Rose you can stop the Bulls - and in the 4th quarter, the Heat can shut Rose down.

The last time the Bulls were a threat to Miami was before Asik got hurt, in that second game where no one scored for about 5 minutes in the fourth quarter for either team.  The Bulls aren't going to score on Miami late so their best bet was to go all-in on stopping them, and they were a defensive firewall with Asik, Gibson and Deng up-front.  Then Asik got hurt and that series was effectively over.  Until the Bulls get a second guy who can create his own shot and more overall athleticism, I don't see them as a threat to a healthy Heat team in the playoffs.

Don't know if the Bulls can beat Miami but Butler is an enormous upgrade from whatever they trotted out there at 2-guard three seasons ago.

But he looks healthy and fearless. The rust will go away.

Indeed it will.  I'm not worried about Rose - I'm worried that the same Rose with a better supporting cast was never really a match for Miami in the postseason.

Rose looks healthy but I haven't seen the supposed explosion the media (and Rose) keeps yapping about. And his shot has been terrible. He seems to have all but given up on the mid-range and floaters, his game-winner not withstanding.

That will come as well Chris.  He needs to have a season to gain game confidence in his off-season work.  Luckily the playoffs don't start until April.  If nothing has changed by then I'll worry.

If anything concerns me about Rose, it's the nagging injuries.  People forget now because of the knee, but Rose was basically in and out of the lineup for the entire season with a dizzying array of injuries.  Now we're two games in and he's already having neck issues.  If Rose is unable to stay healthy generally, never mind the knee, this may be a career-long issue for him.

The Bulls are probably not the NBA's worst team, but they are definitely in the discussion.

They are sloppy. 1-2, should be 0-3. Will be 1-3 after Indiana kicks them around the next game.

Blowing 20-point leads is probably a cause of concern.
